Communal granary in Nursi

The garden was founded in 2004. The size of the flower garden is 1.5 ha; 0.5 ha of this is for planting. Picturesque views of the forest, hilly landscape and the Võhandu river can be enjoyed from the plot. Special attention has been paid to plant communities that require little care, frost resistant and healthy coniferous tree varieties and deciduous trees and bushes. The garden has been designed in English style, while keeping in mind all four seasons. More than 2000 taxa are represented here.The garden can be visited upon prior agreement. The minimum size of the group is 5 people. It is also possible to order luncheons for groups.

The 23-storey high-rise building finished in 2008 on the right bank of the River Emajõgi in Tartu is called the Snail Tower. The Pokuland theme park on the borders of Võru and Põlva Counties was created after a children’s book, Pokumaa by Edgar Valter, and its main characters – Pokus. Pokus were created after sedge tussocks, or clumps of long, thick grass that grow in the bogs.The world of Pokus begins with the visitor's centre – Pokuhall – that looks like a twin-Poku and surprises guests with its unique stairways, passages and interior design elements. In the Pokuhall visitors can see original illustrations and oil paintings by Edgar Valter, get to know his creative work and make Pokus themselves. There are many other activities and events, such as study trails to introduce local nature, village swings to ride, as well as picnic and camping sites.

Café Katariina is located in the centre of the City of Võru at a distance of only a little walk from Katherine Church towards the lake. In the cosy Café you can enjoy good coffee and excellent buns and cakes that have been baked on the spot. If you want to have a more hearty meal, then pizza, warm soup and salad are also on the menu. In case of an advance notice, the Café also makes pizzas, tarts, pretzels and twist buns.
