Värska Visitor Centre – Reek’s House

The Art Nouveau summer residence of General Nikolai Reek on the shores of Lake Õrsava is undoubtedly an architectural gem of the North Military Training Camp, which has been restored in a way as close to the original as possible.Since June 2020, the Värska Visitor Centre has been operating in the building. The exposition of the centre provides information about the Pechory Northern Military Training Camp, founded here in the 1920s, the events of the War of Independence, and the use of medicinal mud and mineral water in this resort area.The visitor centre has a small café and you can rent bicycles, boats, pedal boats, or skates here, depending on the season, and there is also a car park for caravans.

Karilatsi Open Air Museum

Karilatsi Open Air Museum is a unique open air museum in Southern Estonia which provides an overview of the life of Vana-Võromaa County about 100 years ago.On the 5-hectare territory of the museum, you can experience moments from the school life and farm work of that time and get to know everyday simple tools. Workshops and lessons on traditions and customs: smoke sauna customs, Võromaa wedding customs, celebrations, folk calendar year, and many other experience programmes (e.g. court session in Võru language, old school lesson). You can see a school, a court, and an almshouse with their smaller buildings, a granary, a barn-dwelling, a cottar farm, and a Dutch windmill. Agricultural machinery and vehicles are also on display. Ticket sales to the museum end one hour before closing.

Tehvandi Hotel

Tehvandi Hotel (known to the locals as the Pentagon) forms part of Tehvandi Sports Centre. It is unique in Estonia for its horse shoe shape and grass roof.The hotel has a total of 45 rooms with all of the mod cons, sleeping 84 people. Additional beds are available, creating space for a maximum of 100 guests. All rooms are en suite and have an airing cupboard, air conditioning, a television, telephone and balcony.The hotel has its own children's playroom, a public Internet point and a recreational area.The courtyard of the hotel forms a unique park with rolling hills which has its own terrace, seating 50 people.Seminars can also be organised here.Everyone is welcome!

If you are looking for accommodation for a company event or wish to hold a larger birthday party, the seminar house and accommodation buildings of Piusa Ürgorg Holiday Complex are a good choice. The Holiday Complex is located by the Piusa River in a grove, which ensures private environment for your group for holding your event. An evening in a smoke sauna along with meals from rainbow trout caught on site from the pond is worth to enjoy and experience. The Holiday Complex is located in the middle of the 15 km long hiking trail of Piusa Primeval Valley and it is a good place to start your hike to the largest sights of the river – to Härma Walls.

Pokuland

The Pokuland theme park on the borders of Võru and Põlva Counties was created after a children’s book, Pokumaa by Edgar Valter, and its main characters – Pokus. Pokus were created after sedge tussocks, or clumps of long, thick grass that grow in the bogs.The world of Pokus begins with the visitor's centre – Pokuhall – that looks like a twin-Poku and surprises guests with its unique stairways, passages and interior design elements. In the Pokuhall visitors can see original illustrations and oil paintings by Edgar Valter, get to know his creative work and make Pokus themselves. There are many other activities and events, such as study trails to introduce local nature, village swings to ride, as well as picnic and camping sites.

SUP hike or event for a group on the River Emajõgi

SUP hikes are enjoyable from the very first moment as it requires no prior experience and is safe, meaning that they are suitable for everyone! Gather your friends and book a hike on the charming River Emajõgi or another body of water. Our instructor will provide basic training or a thorough training course, where you will learn a few tricks!We also organise planned trips (15 euros per person), which can be booked here.When the weather gets colder, you can go to a hot sauna at the end of the hike.

Canoeing and kayaking day trips on Ahja River

Whether it's your birthday, your company's summer retreat or an outing with friends, a trip on a river is unforgettable. We organize these trips all over Estonia.Canoeing/kayaking trips on Ahja River – this Põlva County river is the best known and the most beautiful river for such trips in Estonia. Routes are suitable for both beginners as well as experienced paddlers. Taevaskoja, caves and white water – such beautiful scenery satisfies even the most demanding of canoeists.Duration of the trip: Koorvere-Kiidjärve – 3 hours (11 km). Kiidjärve-Saesaare – 1.5-2 hours.Price: a canoe trip is €16 per person and a kayak trip is €20 per person.Price for children between the ages of 8-16: €12 per person.The minimum size of a group is 10 people.Small groups can join scheduled trips.
