Tartu Old Anatomical Theatre

In July 2019, the exciting permanent exhibition called 'Controlling machines' (Masinate valitsemine) was opened in the new Machinery Hall of the Road Museum. The idea behind the exhibition is the contradictory power relationship between cars and their drivers. The exposition consists of three sub-expositions: car culture, traffic education, and road machine display. The church dedicated to St. Martin is located on the Estonian Pilgrim Route, which starts from Pirita Monastery and ends at the Vana-Vastseliina Episcopal Castle. There is also a prayer bench in the churchyard.Come and see one of the oldest parish churches in Estonia. The Pokuland theme park on the borders of Võru and Põlva Counties was created after a children’s book, Pokumaa by Edgar Valter, and its main characters – Pokus. Pokus were created after sedge tussocks, or clumps of long, thick grass that grow in the bogs.The world of Pokus begins with the visitor's centre – Pokuhall – that looks like a twin-Poku and surprises guests with its unique stairways, passages and interior design elements. In the Pokuhall visitors can see original illustrations and oil paintings by Edgar Valter, get to know his creative work and make Pokus themselves. There are many other activities and events, such as study trails to introduce local nature, village swings to ride, as well as picnic and camping sites.

A black granite memorial tablet bearing almost 200 names was installed on the wall of the Valga Jaani (St John’s) Church in 1934 in remembrance of the Finnish volunteers who fell in the Paju Battle of the War of Independence. The polar bear sign of the Northern Sons Regiment is shown on the shield above the stone. In 1940 the memorial tablet was demolished with pickaxes by the order of communists. The memorial tablet was reopened on the 80th anniversary of the Paju Battle in 1999.Interesting facts: * the memorial tablet was opened in 1934 by President Konstantin Päts; * the first table was made in Finland and the second one in Tartu; * donations for the second tablet were collected by Ylistaro Rural Municipality (Finland) at the initiative of Ossi Salo.

A narrow-gauge Sonda-Mustvee railway passed through Avinurme during 1926–1972. It was a true 50-year-long prosperity era for the villages located near the route. Today, a section of 178.5 metres of the former railway, the rail brigde, and the rail vehicle have been restored. All those who are interested are welcomed to take a nostalgic train ride from May to October, meaning the railway is opened when the weather is warm enough and the door of the locomotive can be opened and the railway is closed when the door of the locomotive freezes shut.

Tähtvere Mansion was first mentioned in 1515 and belonged to the Bishop of Tartu in the Middle Ages. In 1919, part of the lands of Tähtvere Mansion were sold as the first building plots of Tähtvere District. The main building of the mansion (built in 1910 in the heimat style) has been preserved and is used as one of the study buildings of the Estonian University of Life Sciences (an extension has been added to it).The surviving outbuildings of the mansion are a small animal barn, a maid's house, a barn/grain dryer, a cattle barn, a farmhand's house, and a smithy.The Mansion can only be seen from the outside and it can also be seen for example in the guided bicycle tour "Tartu City Mansions".

Many people in Estonia and beyond know the Intsikurmu Manor Park due to its tradition of fold song festivals. After all, the first song festivals in Estonia were held in Põlva in 1855 and 1857.The Intsikurmu Soung Ground is still a well-known location for concerts and celebrations. The stage can hold close to 3500 singers, the grounds can hold everyone who is interested in celebrating and dancing.
