Tartu Toy Museum, situated in the Old Town of Tartu, takes adults back to the brighter days of their childhood and offers children plenty of interesting things to see and do.The permanent exhibition displays toys that Estonian children have played with throughout the years. Artist-made dolls, souvenir dolls of different nations, and Finno-Ugric traditional toys are also exhibited. Playrooms and workshops are also open. You can see puppets from Estonian puppet films and temporary exhibitions in the outbuilding. The museum also has a theatre building named ’Teatri kodu’ (The Home of Theatre) with a theatre hall, a museum of puppets, and a children’s studio.

On the grounds of Taagepera Castle, a unique "Alice in Wonderland" theme park is open in the summer. You can enjoy thousands of flowers, a colorful magic forest, themed sculptures, and giant installations inspired by the world-famous fairytale. The park offers lots to discover for both children and adults. The 40-meter tower of the castle will be a favorite place for visitors, as each floor of the tower tells its own story. Cafe "Alice" also awaits visitors with a delicious summer menu. Come with the whole family to enjoy a fairytale experience in Taagepera Castle's garden!

At the Barge Center Theme Park, you can observe how a historical 24-meter-long two-masted Emajõe-Peipsi barge is built. You can also craft model barges, learn sailor skills, visit the forge, try old-time barge-related tasks, and explore the history of barge shipping. In the cinema area, you can watch films about barges and slide shows. We offer guided tours and workshops for groups upon prior reservation.Lodjakoja is a historical ship-building center, museum, theme park, and conference and exhibition venue. Viking and barge journeys begin here, and we have our own café and harbor. Explore an educational trail that introduces shipbuilding and forge work. Try out the sailing simulator that takes you on the water, and the test pool lets you try out your homemade model barge. Small visitors will be delighted by the play ship, sandbox-boat, and block corner, while older ones can puzzle over 3D puzzles. Everyone will enjoy the rope-pulling machine and old-time sports games. Come to Liikluslinn (Traffic City) and learn safe driving. This is a unique indoor traffic city with working traffic lights and glowing city lights. On the spot, you can learn to follow traffic rules.At the centre, you find a café, an outdoor cinema, a discotheque, a sports hall and many other facilities that a modern city should have.The Traffic City also has a formula racing track and a practice area for bicycles where you can take an exam for a bicycle driving licence in the future.We welcome both children and adults to the Traffic City, where you can learn about safe traffic and have fun with the entire family!Useful information: The use of cars is subject to an extra charge.

The main exposition of the Lake Museum is live Estonian freshwater fish. Our freshwater fish are not exhibited elsewhere in Estonia in such species quantity.About half of Estonia's freshwater fish live here, including more exotic species, as well as turtles, lake balls, and crayfish.You can visit 2 floor aquariums and 2 large cylindrical aquariums. There are more than 25 different aquariums in total. There is also a collection of fishing gear, an exhibition of primitive fish, and much more!You can book a sauna raft for a pleasure cruise or a sauna session and use a seminar room with a million-dollar view. During summers, a café is open.

The Estonian Road Museum showcases the development of roads and traffic in Estonia, from the horse era to the present day. Exciting thematic events are organized here, educational guided tours are offered, and rooms are rented for seminars and celebrations. The heart of the museum is the historic Varbuse horse post station, which, together with the outdoor exhibition environment Teeaeg, forms a unique look at history. The Machine Hall is the museum's technical park and interactive traffic education center. It also houses a rotating car and the Estonian Road Museum's traffic safety simulator, which offers an immersive experience and a clear understanding of how seat belts save lives. The standout features of the outdoor areas are the historic road room, where you can seemingly travel back in time, and the recreation area with a traffic city, which offers activities for the whole family, especially during the summer season. Temporary exhibitions are held in the main building of the post station, and the second floor houses a children's museum created specifically for younger visitors.

The central square of Valga is located in the heart of the city and connects the two sides of the city, Valga and Valka, into one whole. The central square offers the residents many opportunities for leisure, such as street basketball and table tennis. The unique benches and a colourful playground for children have become especially popular.Next to the central square are the Lutheran St. John's Church (1816) and the oldest building in Valga, a former administrative building of the county authorities.The central square was opened in 2018 with the help of the architects Gianfranco Franchi, Chiara Tesi, and Rea Sepping. At the end of 2019, the square won the annual award of the Union of Estonian Architects.
