Terra Restaurant

Era tn 2, Tartu linn, Tartu maakond, 51010

Terra is a restaurant in Tartu with seasonal cuisine and good wine, located in the historic Era Villa building. Our kitchen is based on fresh ingredients, clear flavors, and seasonality — the menu changes according to what is best at the moment. Terra does not aim to be too complicated, but precise: good ingredients, thoughtful techniques, and a plate with a purpose.
Wine holds an important place at Terra. Our wine list brings together small producers, grower champagnes, exciting European wine regions, and characterful wines that are often not found on large lists. If desired, we help choose wine to accompany the food or offer a paired wine package.
Terra is suitable for a peaceful dinner, special celebrations, and smaller private events. The Chef’s hall, located on the upper floor, allows for the organization of private set-menu dinners and wine evenings for smaller groups.
During the summer season, Terra also operates in Otepää, amidst the vineyards in Murimäe, where you can enjoy a seasonal menu, wines, and the South Estonian landscape.

Dogsled trips in Järvselja Forest and Peipsiveere Nature Reserve in Emajõe-Suursoo

Come and experience Estonia's vast natural landscapes in a primal way — by dogsled! Karusaare dogsled trips in Tartu County offer unforgettable experiences throughout the year in the forest landscape of Järvselja and the Peipsiveere Nature Reserve in Emajõe-Suursoo. From autumn to spring, we move on off-road carts and, in winter, when there is enough snow, on traditional sleds. You can choose a shorter trip or a longer journey. It is an appropriate activity for the whole family, including children over the age of 3. The hike begins and ends at the sled dog training center, where the instructor shares the necessary safety and driving instructions. On our journey, we take short breaks to water the dogs, and on longer journeys, we stop by the fire to enjoy a bit of heat, light, and warm food. If you wish, you can also order catering to make your trip even more memorable. Trips only take place when the air temperature is below +12 °C and there is no storm warning or wind gusting above 15 m/s.

Elva station building

This romantic, historic railway station building, established in 1889, laid the foundation for Elva's birth and development. Thanks to the railway and the completion of the station building, Elva became a popular resort destination, attracting many holidaymakers. The station building in the heart of Elva is built in a classical style, and its beautiful facade is characteristic of 19th-century station buildings. Due to its architectural value, the building is under heritage protection. The old building, wooden details, and fascinating history create a pleasant backdrop for photography enthusiasts and those intrigued by architecture and history. While waiting for a train or bus, one can browse the lively library in the cozy waiting room, work remotely, or enjoy a hot drink. The station building also houses the café A la Ain, which offers flavors from around the world. In front of the building is a fountain restored in 2017 with community support. It is the same type of fountain that was originally built there in 1926 and became one of Elva's symbols in the 20th century.

Upside Down House

Are you looking for a unique experience and funny photos in Tartu? The Upside Down House is an exciting but dizzying experience where anything is possible. All the furniture, the refrigerator, and everything else, usually on the floor, is instead on the ceiling. Actually, they are on the floor — but is the ceiling the floor, or are you upside down? The house is also slightly inclined, challenging your sense of balance. It may be confusing, but it's laugh-out-loud funny. A visit takes about 30 minutes; you are guaranteed a great experience and cool photos!
