Want to discover the Onion Route?Sometimes, you just have to spend time with your friends and do something new. Come and discover the authentic village life of Peipsi through the everyday tasks of the local people!Depending on the season, we offer the following activities:- in early spring, we will focus on fishing and drying fish;- in late spring, we will cut brushwood, burn branches, and enjoy the fire;- in the summer, we will pick willow-herb and make traditional tea with the hostess;- in the autumn, we will build a mobile sauna from scratch.The price also includes saunas, local food and people, and accommodation for two nights. Home restaurant Maagõkõnõ at Toomemäe farm

Sirje Kruusamäe with her family welcomes you at the Toomemäe Farm in the village of Saabolda. The home restaurant Maagõkõnõ (poppy in Estonian) is the result of Sirje’s long-standing dream. When the family bought the farm, it was surrounded by a poppy field. Now, they are used to decorate the walls of the home cafe.The restaurant serves gourmet local good. Our most popular dishes are pike cutlets, warm cottage cheese, and home-made ice cream, but also delicious pies. The hostess Sirje is a multi-time pie champion of the Seto Kingdom Day!The restaurant is also perfect for cooking workshops, birthdays, and other events.

Hotel Karupesa Restaurant

The restaurant of Hotel Karupesa caters for both hotel guests and everyone else. The restaurant is located in the basement of Hotel Karupesa and has 66 seats. A terrace is also opened during the summer season. Guests can have barbeques in the arbour in the hotel’s backyard. There hotel offers several barbeque meals in summer in addition to the usual à la carte menu. We offer special menus to athletes and sports camps. Ülikooli Cafe

This building has hosted grand receptions of the nobility and served as a gathering point for student bodies. It was designed in 1876 by architect Otto Mohr for the Nolken family to turn an ordinary home into a residence resembling an Italian palazzo. A cafe opened on its second floor on 5 November 1957 and remained open until 1983.New life was breathed into the cafe in early 2005. With its six rooms, cosy corners, friendly staff and great music, it's a fantastic place for everyone!

Guided tour ‘Flavours of the Onion Road: from onion pies to chicory coffee’

The Onion Road has many layers of flavours. During the tour, we will discover the local culture through all of them. Participants will learn the secrets of Ivan Chai, eat the famous onion pies of Kostja, taste chicory cake and coffee, and drink local craft wines.In addition, we will make a bag with block printing, learn the story of the Old Believers and the Baltic German landlords, and find out how the locals grow onions.It is possible to order the tour with (additional 150 euros) or without a guide.We will choose the dishes and places in accordance with your wishes and the season.

Among the Otepää hills, the mistress of the Toidupada welcomes everyone who likes the country, natural seclusion, and excellent and simple Estonian food from local fresh ingredients.The cosy courtyard of Toidupada, which is located in a naturally beautiful area, is suitable for any event that you want to celebrate with your family or friends and later fondly remember.We have a smoke sauna with a sauna barrel. Toidupada guests can also stay the night, if they wish, in order to wake up to bird song the next morning and enjoy a cup of coffee on the terrace

Pühaste Kelder, located in the heart of Tartu, is the representative bar of Pühaste Brewery. Here, the freshest IPAs are less than 24 hours old. We also offer experimental beers and if you do not find something from this selection, you can choose from 21 tap beers. The beginning of the story of Pühaste Brewery dates back to 2011 when Eero Mander first began making beer. He received positive feedback from a wide circle of beer lovers. The factory was opened in 2016 and the representative bar in 2018.
