Humal BISTRO

Humal Bistro is a diner in central Tartu inspired by French food culture. We encourage family members, friends, acquaintances, colleagues, and well-behaved pets to get together to enjoy good food, carefully matched drinks, jokes, and laughter. Bistro design and French food culture are the keywords that have inspired us when compiling the menu, and they are also the beliefs we follow every day in the kitchen, service, and atmosphere. Bistros are always cozy and welcoming, and we try to reflect the same on our food and drink menus. Simple foods inspired by French cuisine are transformed into high-quality, well-thought-out dishes. We also offer delicious vegetarian meals. All of this is supplemented by an ambitious cocktail menu, an impressive wine cabinet, and one of the city's best tap beer selections. Small and large events can also be organized in Humal.

Kuremaa Castle and Park

Kuremaa Manor is a special place where classical columns, grand façades, and harmonious proportions blend beautifully in its architecture. It is an excellent venue for conferences, client and team events, as well as weddings and celebrations. The neoclassical manor house was designed by E.J. Strauss and built between 1837 and 1843 by the von Oettingen family. The manor’s museum room introduces the history of the estate. The diverse manor park slopes gently down to Lake Kuremaa, enchanting visitors with its beach and leisure opportunities.Within walking distance are the Kuremaa Mill, Kuremaa Beach, Kuremaa Swimming Pool and Mini-Spa, and the Kuremaa Health Trails.

Model of Kivisild

The first stone bridge to be constructed in the Baltic States was erected in the 18th century at one end of the Town Hall Square in Tartu, with two triumphal arches and a raisable mid-section. Dedicated to Russian empress Catherine II, it was opened to traffic in 1784. The bridge was destroyed during World War II. All that remains to admire is the 2004 model of the bridge (created by Tiiu Kirsipuu).

Rõuge hill fort and prehistoric settlement

The cultural layer of Rõuge settlement hid several ruins of residential buildings and a number of findings of household items. Subsequent to the settlement is a fortress that is situated on the western part of the natural small cape and where the residential buildings were located, but today, only the end ramparts of the fortress with ditches in front of them can be seen. During Middle Iron Age, people mainly subsisted on slash-and-burn clearance, cattle-breeding was less developed. Some examples of tools of local craftsmen were found among the finds from Rõuge; the finds can be seen in Võrumaa Regional Museum. In 1613, Rõuge is mentioned as a parish for the first time. The modern-day small town came into being in the 19th century.

Rannu Apostolic Orthodox Church

The Apostolic Orthodox Church in Rannu (Rannu Orthodox Church) was built during 1899-1901 and consecrated on 5 May 1905 to celebrate Jesus going to Jerusalem. Therefore the church is also called the Rannu Church of the Lord Going to Jerusalem. The activities of the Orthodox congregation were terminated in 1961 and the church was used as the warehouse of the Rannu collective farm. In the 1980s, Rannu State Farm decided to make amends for the injustice and restored the church. The church has been previously used as a concert venue due to its excellent acoustics.Currently the church is not used for services.
