The Pesapuu watchtower is 30 meters high (the top observation platform is 27 meters from the ground) and it resembles a tree with two bird nests. The architect Karmo Tõra was the original author of the idea.The watchtower is eye-catching during both the day and the night. In the evening, lights of different colours are turned on to shed light on the so-called bird nests or observation platforms and the so-called golden egg on the top of the tower.Tourists that reach the top are offered picturesque views of the Nightingale Valley and the rest of Võru County. Pesapuu is opened around the clock.

Võru Institute is the creative home of Võro language and culture: here, you can ask about the language and customs of Võro. There is an exhibition sale of books in the Võro language. The e-shop Umapuut of Old-Võromaa sells books in the Võro language, CDs with Võro songs, a wide selection of local crafts, and souvenirs with Võro symbols. If you wish, you can order a short course of the Võro language as well as lectures or presentations on the Võro language and cultural space at the institute.To learn about the cultural heritage of Old-Võromaa, first visit the local museums, which open the doors to the local culture. The 24 h raft hike a versatile adventure, which is suitable for both company events and gatherings of friends.The raft hike begins and ends at the Kavastu village harbour, next to the Kavastu ferry. After a light meal and raft training, the adventure begins. On rafts, we take an 18–24 km journey until reaching the raft house on the River Kalli, where you will have dinner and can enjoy a sauna to gather energy for the return trip the following morning. The tour ends at Kavastu harbour.

Tartu Pioneers' Alley is an alley of footprints by Tasku Centre, on the side of Riia Street, which values the people who have contributed to the development of Tartu and encourages others to walk in their shoes.The alley was established in 2010 when the sculptor Bruno Kadak installed bronze footprints there. Each autumn, a new set of footprints is added to the alley.

Imagine eating your favourite dish without seeing it on the plate. How will it taste like? Come and experience our blind dining to find out. The purpose of blind dining is to emphasise and activate the senses that are usually in the background. The dinner consists of seven or five courses prepared by our head chef and is complemented with delicious wines. The participants will have to guess what they are eating, guided solely by the taste and their intuition. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available. The dinner starts with refreshments and sparkling wine. The minimum size of the group is eight people. The dinner lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours.

The monument to the physician who studied and became a professor in Tartu was completed in 1952. The authors of the monument are J Raudsepp, A Mölder, P Tarvas, A Volberg.Nikolai Pirogov was the founder of experimental surgery, topographic anatomy and field surgery. His work made the surgeries performed in Tartu famous all over Russia and also abroad.
