The medieval Gothic church is located on the ancient Pirita–Vastseliina pilgrim route. The white walls of the sanctuary are characterised by narrow and high round arched windows and beautiful relief motifs on the western façade.The organ used in Puhja Church is a rarity throughout Europe. It is estimated that only 10 other similar organs have survived. Those who wish can also go to see the spire or visit the church museum of Puhja parsonage.Good to know:The church participates in the Wayfarers Churches and the Night of Churches programmes.Worship every Sunday at 11 a.m. The church can also be visited by prior arrangement.
At our place there is beautiful nature, you can enjoy sauna and make a barbecue. We offer you oven for smoking, grill and Wok-pan. You can also cook meat in underground oven that is a very good to do together and meat is delicious. Garden of the owners is very variety-rich and by request you can also walk there. During Christmas it is also possible to buy a Christmas tree that we allow to choose yourself and to cut it with your own hands. It is like time has stopped at our place even though we situate very close to Tartu.

The hiking trail, winding through the diverse landscape, is peppered with many picturesque sights including the Small and Big Taevaskoda, the Ahja River, Otten Stone Bridge, shooting locations of the hit movie "Viimne reliikvia" (The Last Relic), accompanied by bird songs and whispers of the forest. When exploring the nature on a scooter, you will forget your everyday problems and experience the full beauty and tranquility of nature.This hike, led by a guide, lasts between 2 and 3 hours. The Tsõõrikmägi hill got its name from the evenly round hollow with steep brinks in the middle of the hill.The Tsõõrikmägi meteorite crater near Räpina dates back to the period after the ice age. Scientists believe that it might be 9,500 to 10,000 years old. The circular dike of the crater is 38–40 meters in diameter.
The Art Studio sells great Estonian oil paintings and graphic art, high-class leather and wood goods and high temperature ceramics by Aivar Rumvolt. Please do not hesitate to call on us, if you need a special gift for your guest. The Avatud Ateljee Studio organises different courses: you are welcome to sign up for pottery, calligraphy, binding or leatherwork classes. In addition the studio organises poetry reading nights and meetings with artists. Groups can also visit Aivar Rumvolt’s pottery shop in Kubja by previous appointment. In summer there are workshops both for grown-ups and the young.
The first stone church was constructed in Rõuge in the 16th century. In 1730, the original church, which was destroyed in the Great Northern War, was replaced with one which had an imposing square tower. The church was blessed in the name of St. Mary. The altar-piece "Christ on the cross" by R. von Mühlen is from 1854. In 1860 the walls were made higher and a mirrored arch was installed. In 1930 the church got a 31-register organ built by the Kriisa brothers. The first Estonian pastor in Rõuge was Rudolf Gottfried Kallas.Useful information! You can attend mass at the church every Sunday at 11:00 and in summer, the church is used as a wayfarers' church. Entrance to the tower is for a fee (grown ups 1.50, children 1 and family ticket 3 euros).
Maarjamäe House is cosy place for families and smaller companies. You are welcome to use the sauna or have barbeque in the fireplace. A fence surrounds the house, so kids don’t have access to the pond or road.
