Plant world workshop ‘Väetoidu aastaring’ (Superfood All Year Round)

The long-serving professor of the University of Tartu was one of the brightest scientists in 20th century Tartu. Lotman studied the history of Russian literature and culture and general regularities of culture. He laid the foundation of cultural semiotics and was the founder of the Tartu-Moscow school of semiotics. The monument to the world-famous culturologist and semiotician, which consists of pipes, water and light, was opened on 6 October 2007. The idea for the sculpture made of 15 m of steel pipe is based on the self-portrait of Juri Lotman. Authors of the monument: Mati Karmin, architect Andres Lunge.

Loov Energia Ceramic Studio is dedicated to creation and design. During the workshop in Torma, one cylindrical mug will be made, which will be left to dry and, after pre-firing, glazed by the instructor. Pikasilla recreation area, located in Põdrala rural municipality by the southern tip of Lake Võrtsjärv, is easily accessible and has a strategically good location by a waterway (at the mouth of the River Emajõgi). The place has become well-known as a venue of sports competitions and various public events. Drive along the Võru-Valga highway from Saru to Kuutsi-Tiitsa-Karisöödi-Ura-Naha (about 14 km). The trail is about 4.8 km long and it takes a couple of hours to walk it through. The trail starts under the oak-tree with a perimeter of about 4 metres in Naha farm and runs very close to the state border, so make sure you take your ID with you. Interesting to know: you cannot put your foot down on the southernmost point, as the geographically correct southernmost point of Estonia is situated about 5 steps away from the marked spot, just in the middle of the Peetri River.

The course offers challenges for both beginner players and more experienced enthusiasts, as it is designed to suit players of all ages and skill levels. The park's naturally inspiring atmosphere makes the experience even more special. The disc golf course is open to players around the clock, allowing you to come and play whenever it suits you. Discs can be borrowed free of charge from Alatskivi Castle's reception desk during the castle's opening hours, provided an identity document is presented. Grab the discs, invite your friends, and head to Alatskivi Castle Park. Enjoy a game, nature, and the unique atmosphere of the castle's garden!

We have a motorized raft that can be used for a trip on Värska Bay. The raft can carry 15–20 people. It has chairs and a barbecue. You can steer the raft yourself.The use of the raft costs €30/h.
