Lähte health track

Tartu vald, Tartu maakond, 60502

Lähte health track, located 15 km from Tartu, is open 24 h; tracks are lit until 10 pm.Lähte has tracks in various lengths that can be used for skiing, running, Nordic walking and bicycling. The longest track is 5 km long. Health track starts from the watch tower near Lähte sports hall.

Savimäe Holiday House

Savimäe Holiday House is located in Setomaa, near Rõsna Holiday Centre (6 km).The holiday house is on the shore of a private lake. In summer, you can fish, jump in the water, or sunbathe on the terrace of the house.On the island in the middle of the lake, you can enjoy a smoke sauna. The holiday house is especially suitable for families.No pets allowed in the house. We do not rent the house for just one night.

Võru Bank Building

Võru Bank Building is undoubtedly one of the most stylish stone buildings in Võru. The traditional building was completed in 1938 around the then main square marketplace. The style is characterised by a high roof, symmetrical facade with stylised pillar motifs, including national ornamentation. The architects were Edgar Johan Kuusik and Anton Soans, the bas-reliefs were made by Aleksander Kaasik.Currently, the building houses an SEB branch office, the souvenir and gift shop Must Kass, and the editorial office of LõunaLeht.

Two-day hike on the River Võhandu with kayak or canoe

The longest River in Estonia - Võhandu (162 km) flows through Võru and Põlva County in its beautiful and abrupt bed surrounded by sandstone outcrops. An elaborate 80 km independent canoe hike, kayak hike or raft hike is suitable for both families and friends to familiarize themselves with Estonian nature. Hikers move on their own, designing their own hiking day, movement schedule and journey length. Overnight in tents, meals are made on Primus. The tips and additional materials required for the hike can be obtained by ordering and hiking from the hiking guide at the starting location. The hotspots can be viewed on the RMK website.

The Liphardt tomb chapel

The Vastseliina manor chapel, popularly called the Liphardt tomb chapel, is situated in the old cemetery of Vastseliina (also known as the German cemetery). The chapel was completed in the same year as the current Vastseliina church, in 1772.The Liphardts, one of the wealthiest noble families of Livonia, governed the entire Vastseliina parish from Misso to Orava and ruled Vastseliina for seven generations. In addition to Vastseliina, the family also owned several other manors, including the Raadi manor.The Vastseliina manor chapel is one of the most remarkable examples of early classicist rural chapels.Visitors are welcome to see the exterior of the chapel only.

Memorial room for Anna Haava in the Kodavere Heritage Centre

Anna Haava (1864–1957) was an Estonian poet, librettist, and translator who was born on Haavakivi Farm in Pala Parish, Tartu County.The memorial room located in the Kodavere Heritage Centre exhibits photographs of the poet and her relatives, along with a family tree, poetry collections and translations, memorabilia, parts of Anna Haava's correspondence, copies of documents, and a model of Haavakivi Farm.

Kubija health trails and training area

The Kubija health trails and training area, which are 4.5 km from the centre of Võru, offer a range of sporting opportunities to all sports lovers in beautiful natural surroundings. The ca 2 km long rollerblading track and forest trails start from the Võru Sports Centre Kubija ski base. Right at the very start of the tracks is a training area in which you can give all of your muscle groups a good workout. Tartu Old Anatomical Theatre

The anatomical theatre, which served as a workplace for many famous doctors and scientists in the 19th century, was completed in 1805 on the southern slope of Toome Hill, Tartu, at the site of the former Swedish-era Carl Gustav bastion. It was originally designed by Johann Wilhelm Krause as a neoclassical rotunda. In 1825-1827, semicircular wing buildings were added to the building according to Krause's design. The anatomical theatre acquired its present shape after the last major extension was completed between 1856 and 1860.Medical Collections of the Medical Faculty of the University of Tartu are available at Science Centre AHHAA.

Monument to Kristjan Jaak Peterson

Kristjan Jaak Peterson (14 March 1801 – 4 August 1822) was an Estonian writer who is considered to be the founder of Estonian national literature.He studied in the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy of the University of Tartu from 1819 to 1820. He called himself a singer of the country people, appreciated the national features of literature, and thought that the creation of original Estonian literature was possible.There is a bronze monument to him on Toomemägi, which was completed in 1983 by J. Soans and A. Murdmaa, and a high school named after him in Tartu.On the writer's birthday, 14 March, we celebrate Mother Tongue Day.Fun fact: Peterson walked from Tartu to Riga more than 200 years ago due to lack of money.
