Ice Age Centre raft trip on Saadjärv Lake

One of the most famous and beloved places in the town of Elva, Tartu County, is the beach of Lake Verevi, whose warm water and soft sand have been a favorite of locals and visitors for decades. This lake is a scenic spot in the heart of Elva, where summer vibes, active leisure, and the pleasure of a day at the beach meet. The beach has a diving tower, children's pool, and volleyball courts, where various competitions are often held. The beach has all the necessary amenities, including changing cabins, lifeguards, toilets, and a summer beach café. At Verevi Beach Café, you can enjoy authentic Italian gelato and rent SUP boards. Near Verevi Beach is Elva Sports Park, which features a tennis court, outdoor gym, Elva City Stadium, Seeneriigi playground, and a running track under the pines. In winter, it is possible to sled down the lake slope and skate on the lake ice rink when ice conditions are favorable. Skates can be rented during the winter from Verevi Motel.

Families with children are particularly welcome in the Lake Pühajärv Park as there are many opportunities to feed ducks and other birds when walking on the lakeshore. There is an exercise track by the northern part of the park. This is also the place where you will find the beach with a beach house, cafés, arbours and boat hire.The park used to be a part of the Pühajärv Manor Park and it was designed as a walking forest with paths already in the 19th century. The park is mainly a naturally grown forest.

The nature trail connecting two cities runs along the banks of the Pedeli River. The asphalt trail is 5 km long. If you find yourself on a boardwalk in the middle of the path, you have already crossed the border. Take the time to climb the stairs to Pudrumägi hill, which offers a wonderful view of the twin cities! There is no rush here – there are children's playgrounds, outdoor gyms, a beach, a recreation area on the peninsula, and even dog parks by the trail. Tartu Snow Park offers a total of eight hectares of sled and tube tracks – a true snow paradise. There are seven snow tube tracks at the Tartu Snow Park, all of which have different speeds and lengths and therefore, they are suitable for toddlers, teenagers, and adults. Come and spend some lovely time with family, friends, or by yourself. We also have a sledding slope where you can ride your sledge for free. Do not waste your day indoors. In the city centre of Tartu, around the new Tartu Environmental Education Centre, there is a large park covering 10,000 m² and containing a large number of species. Old and ancient trees meet newly designed park trails offering learning and recreational possibilities in the hilly park. The park is home to over 80 species of trees and shrubs and over 200 species of herbaceous plants.A visitor can find peat, butterfly, and vegetable beds in the park; there is also a man-made beaver nest, a sun dial, a fountain, an observation tower, and a study trail about rocks. The old orchard has also been preserved. Children can have fun at the otter slide, a three-sand sandbox, and a carousel. Park facilities and plants are introduced by several information boards.

The 24 h raft hike a versatile adventure, which is suitable for both company events and gatherings of friends.The raft hike begins and ends at the Kavastu village harbour, next to the Kavastu ferry. After a light meal and raft training, the adventure begins. On rafts, we take an 18–24 km journey until reaching the raft house on the River Kalli, where you will have dinner and can enjoy a sauna to gather energy for the return trip the following morning. The tour ends at Kavastu harbour.
