The store features products created with care by locals as well as creations by master craftspeople from all over Estonia.At Magasiait, you can purchase: lovely rugs, stylish ceramics, knitwear for the body, toes, and fingers, and a woman's best friend – jewelry. You can also find famous Estonian lace shawls, made by the skilled knitters of Haapsalu. One of the store's great prides is the selection of woven baskets, which extends from the floor almost to the ceiling in the large hall.The busy bees of Magasiait wish to make customers happy by offering a selection of gourmet items from home kitchens — "Magasiaida Talusahver." The menu includes special sauces and jams, including Sibulkad — uniquely flavored onion jams, herbal teas, and flavored salts. The highlight is locally grown lavender. There is also a corner dedicated to recycling, where you can find a piece of Estonian art history and a retro vibe. We welcome all craft enthusiasts!

The first written record about Kirumpää Castle is from 1322, when Gediminas, Grand Duke of Lithuania, destroyed it. The castle was built by the once important Tartu-Pihkva trade and war route, to protect the eastern border of the Tartu Bishopric. The castle has been attacked, destroyed and rebuilt many times and it was finally destroyed in the Russo-Swedish war in 1656.Useful information: Kirumpää Castle was surrounded by a large settlement of merchants and craftsmen. The layouts of the castle and the surrounding area are preserved in the Swedish National Archives. Stones from the castle's ruins were used to build Võru, which was established in 1784. Small-leaved lindens that grow around the ruins are from 1940.

You are welcome to admire the Gothic red brick house of God (architect Wilhelm Schilling). The Church of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the only Roman Catholic church in Tartu. The cornerstone was placed in 1862 and the church was consecrated in 1899. You will find the painting "Virgin Mary with Jesus" (1905) by Ernst Friedrich von Liphardt and a large crucifix carved of lime tree (1935) in the high-vaulted church.Interesting facts: - even Tsar Nicholas II donated 3000 roubles for the construction of the church in 1894 when Priest Friedrich Zhyskar started raising funds for building the church.

The Struve Geodetic Arc is a survey circuit created by astronomer and surveyor Friedrich Georg Wilhelm Struve to specify the size and shape of the Earth and to produce accurate topographic maps, consisting of 265 measuring points and extending from the Arctic Ocean to the Black Sea.One of the triangulation points is located in Kaarepere on Aruküla hill. The point is marked with an information board and in the immediate vicinity, there is the Kaarepere disc golf course, a barbecue and picnic area, and a pleasant village swing. In 2005, the Struve Arc was entered into the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Vastseliina manor chapel, popularly called the Liphardt tomb chapel, is situated in the old cemetery of Vastseliina (also known as the German cemetery). The chapel was completed in the same year as the current Vastseliina church, in 1772.The Liphardts, one of the wealthiest noble families of Livonia, governed the entire Vastseliina parish from Misso to Orava and ruled Vastseliina for seven generations. In addition to Vastseliina, the family also owned several other manors, including the Raadi manor.The Vastseliina manor chapel is one of the most remarkable examples of early classicist rural chapels.Visitors are welcome to see the exterior of the chapel only.

Tartu Pioneers' Alley is an alley of footprints by Tasku Centre, on the side of Riia Street, which values the people who have contributed to the development of Tartu and encourages others to walk in their shoes.The alley was established in 2010 when the sculptor Bruno Kadak installed bronze footprints there. Each autumn, a new set of footprints is added to the alley.

Discover the heart of Estonian literature: the Oskar Luts Home Museum in Tartu!
