The camping site has places for 50 caravans. The total area of our caravan site is 2500 m². Every vehicle has access to one power outlet. For our guests there is also a service house with showers, toilets, sinks, washing machine and a stove. We have fresh water supply and toilet emptying options. Reception is open from 8 a.m until 9 p.m. If needed, you may use our telephone and internet. The whole camping site has WiFi. We will organize dinner parties with cultural program if you book it in advance. On request we will take you on a trip to South-Estonia with a guide.
In the center of Võru stands the dignified Steding House – a stone building from the 19th century, also known as the Old Pharmacy House. The walls of the building hide several layers: beneath the plaster layers, stencil paintings and decorations have been found that tell stories of past eras. Unlike sterilely restored museums, Steding House has preserved genuine history – it is a building that shows its layers and carries the memories of the city. One wall is adorned with hand-formed ceramic tiles (author Kristel Sihiveer). The eclectic interior is from reuse. Today, Steding House is a meeting place for the community and guests. There is a café; art exhibitions, concerts, and movie nights are organized; additionally, creative and service enterprises find a home here. In summer and on weekends, the house is especially lively – a buzzing crowd on the terrace, and nighttime entertainment offered in the basement. Steding House is both a sight and a vibrant cultural center – a place where a visitor can experience the unique atmosphere of the city of Võru.
Põltsamaa Castle has been an important site throughout the centuries and carries a distinguished history – founded in 1272 on the riverbank, it was the residence of Magnus, the King of Livonia, and later evolved into a magnificent Rococo palace. Wars and fires left the castle in ruins, but now it has come back to life and is waiting for you to visit! Today, the castle offers visitors plenty of excitement. First and foremost, it is worth climbing to the viewing platform of the seven-story castle tower, where a captivating view of the city unfolds in every season. The tower is crowned by a restored historical dome, which is unique in all of Estonia. The church, located within the complex, is built directly into the castle's fortification walls and tower, and is open daily during the summer. The convent and gatehouse feature a modern exhibition that tells the colorful story of the castle and the town of Põltsamaa. In the castle courtyard, craft workshops await, where you can watch the work of masters or purchase something interesting yourself. The village of Nina (‘nose’) gets its name from the nose-shaped shoreline reaching the lake. It is a stone ridge heading into the lake, which is popularly called the Kalevipoeg Bridge. According to legend, Kalevipoeg started to build a bridge to go to Russia, but the devil demolished the bridge. Kalevipoeg was very tired and decided to walk through the lake, where the water reached his upper body. The remains of the bridge or the stone blockfield can still be seen. The stone blockfield, which is located both on the beach and in lake water, covers an area of 0.7 ha.The village of Nina is known for its icebergs.
The small wooden Tobrova tsässon on the right side of the Tobrova-Küllätüvä road looks like a small barn with a modest cross on the roof. This Orthodox chapel built in 1932 is dedicated to Easter – the most important holiday in Tobrova and nearby villages. Behind the Tobrova tsässon is the Luikjärve farm fort: a well-preserved Seto farm with a closed courtyard, which has been restored by the Obinitsa Museum.Contact the Obinitsa Museum for more information about the tsässon and the farm.
