The first floor of the house has accommodation rooms of different sizes and comfort levels, a kitchen, and a fireplace hall. There are two bedrooms on the second floor of the sauna house with a fireplace room. In front of the house there is a terrace open to the evening sun and a campfire site by the river with shelter. The place is ideal for organising a small party or a group event.The waterway connection to the Little Emajõgi and Lake Võrtsjärv attracts fishermen and nature lovers. We rent a boat and canoes. A local sculptor R. Veeber built the Peko statue on the hill.People visit Peko* – fertility god of the Setos – before major undertakings for luck and success. They also make sacrifices there. Locals see the statue as a place of positive energy, which is why it is perfect for charging one's batteries.
The big beautiful prayer house in Varnja Village on the shores of Lake Peipus was funded and built by the congregation itself. Most of the many icons of the prayer house date back to the start of the 20th century.Visitors can only enter the church with a reservation.The cost of a single visit for a group starts from 50 euros. Visitors get an interesting overview of the life and history of the Old Believers from a local guide who is also an Old Believer. The Kubija health trails and training area, which are 4.5 km from the centre of Võru, offer a range of sporting opportunities to all sports lovers in beautiful natural surroundings. The ca 2 km long rollerblading track and forest trails start from the Võru Sports Centre Kubija ski base. Right at the very start of the tracks is a training area in which you can give all of your muscle groups a good workout. Alaveski Animal Park offers an opportunity for observing animals in their natural environment. The fauna of the animal park is very diverse; there are 90 different animals and 28 pheasants living in the Alaveski farm. Here you can meet two bear cubs, Mõmsik and Harry as well as squirrels, foxes, deer and wild boars who were the first inhabitants in the park. In cooperation with our partners you can go canoeing, roast game on the grill or hunt for pheasants during the hunting season.
The Pikksaare hiking trail begins at the swimming and camping area by Lake Pangodi. While walking along the hiking trail, you can enjoy peace and idyllic views of the lake and the surrounding nature and make a short detour to the War of Independence Memorial. The directional signs placed along the trail will help make the hike smoother. The hiking trail passes the Pangodi campfire site, where you can take a short break, as there is a shelter, a barbecue area, a nice swimming spot, and opportunities for camping.
