The longest Devonian sandstone outcrop in Estonia is located in Kallaste. The measurements done in 2001 show that the outcrop is about 930 metres long. The maximum height of the outcrop is 8 metres. Starting from the south side of the town and moving towards the central square, you can see 11 outcrops. When the water level rises during high waters, the waves chip away the outcrop, creating many caves in the sandstone. The largest of these are more than 1.5 m high and up to 6 m deep.The southernmost and highest outcrop has been under protection since 1959.According to legends, an ancient and magical smith used to live in the caves.

The park's hiking trail winds through a forest of lindens, maples, and oaks and is perfect for walking and enjoying the natural surroundings. Within the park is also the Alatskivi landscape protection area, which preserves the region's diverse flora and landscape. Here, you can see both old park groves and natural lakeside zones. For those looking for a more active holiday, there's a disc golf course. It is also worth visiting Alatskivi Castle, which houses an information center, the Eduard Tubin Museum, artists' studios, and the Alatskivi Castle restaurant. Kagu hostel is a bargain accommodation suitable for a thrifty traveller and sits on the outskirts a few kilometres from the city centre and Lake Tamula. The hostel has light-filled rooms, with a stove, microwave, fridge and kettle in the public kitchen corner. Many people in Estonia and beyond know the Intsikurmu Manor Park due to its tradition of fold song festivals. After all, the first song festivals in Estonia were held in Põlva in 1855 and 1857.The Intsikurmu Soung Ground is still a well-known location for concerts and celebrations. The stage can hold close to 3500 singers, the grounds can hold everyone who is interested in celebrating and dancing.

Mooste Manor in South Estonia, Põlva County, is one of the best-preserved manor complexes in Estonia. The main building currently houses a manor school, and the former cow barn has become one of the largest concert and seminar halls in South Estonia — Mooste Folgikoda. Various craftsmen operate in the former outbuildings, passing on their skills to all interested parties. Mooste Manor's Linakoja Guesthouse has a total of seven rooms. The rooms located in the manor's former woodworking shop are mostly on the second floor and are simple and cozy. Five rooms have shared bathroom facilities. For a slightly more spacious and comfortable stay, there is the "Cabinet" apartment on the second floor and the family-friendly "Summer Room," with a separate entrance on the first floor.
