Bumblebee Forest House

Kimalase Metsamajas is fresh forest air, birdsong, and seclusion from the big world on the edge of Estonia. The cottage and sauna are located by the largest lake in Haanjamaa – Lake Hino – in a grove. The cozy log cabin in the Misso area offers a private retreat for a family or a smaller group. On-site amenities include a kitchenette, fireplace, terrace, and barbecue facilities. The sauna is available for an additional fee, and after a steam, you can head straight into the water from the lakeside. At Lake Hino, you can go boating, fishing, or enjoy a summer swim. The hiking trails around the lake provide good opportunities for peaceful walks and listening to birdsong. The lake’s seven small islands are a sight to behold.
The cottage is especially valued for its peace and quiet – there are no neighbors, city noise, or traffic to disturb you here. The natural surroundings and views of the largest lake in Haanjamaa create a special atmosphere where you can relax both body and mind.

Oskar Luts Home Museum

Ruins of Helme Order Castle

The ruins of Helme Order Castle are situated on a steep slope by the Pärnu-Valga road. The castle is thought to have been built in the first half of the 14th century. Parts of its walls with their distinctive window openings remain standing today. Legend has it that a young virgin was entombed within its walls in order to further strengthen it - whether there is any truth to the story is up to visitors to decide! Over the centuries the castle has been governed by Germans, Russians, Lithuanians and finally Swedes - who destroyed it in 1658.Did you know...?*In the valley below the castle is the Doctor's Spring, whose waters are said to cure seven different ailments.

Pikasilla recreation area

Pikasilla recreation area, located in Põdrala rural municipality by the southern tip of Lake Võrtsjärv, is easily accessible and has a strategically good location by a waterway (at the mouth of the River Emajõgi). The place has become well-known as a venue of sports competitions and various public events. The area has different sports facilities, a children's playground, cabins and a campfire site; it also has washing and cooking facilities.The services of the recreation area include:- renting the recreation area- renting canoes, kayaks and boats- boat harbour and mooring spots- renting a stadium building and a building with washing and cooking facilities- caravan parking- camping ground for about 100 people- cabins for rent

Lake Saadjärv

Lake Saadjärv is the only lake to make the top ten of both the biggest and deepest lakes in Estonia. It covers 708 hectares and is 25 metres deep at its deepest point.It is the largest lake in the Vooremaa region, located in the Vooremaa Landscape Protection Area on the border of Jõgeva County and Tartu County. Lake Saadjärv and its boulders are associated with the legends of Kalevipoeg, the Estonian mythological hero.Lake Saadjärv is a popular recreational area and it offers activities throughout the year. There are a number of enterprises near the lake which offer a number of exciting activities. Additionally, there are cultural sites, museums, places for spending the night, and several sandy public beaches with playgrounds.

Rähni home accommodation is located in a quiet and safe neighborhood about 1.5 km from the centre of Põlva.Guests can enjoy a detached two-story house with separate entrances. The rooms and sauna are located in an area that has a positive effect on people, as many of our guests have admitted. The large adjoined kitchen and living room can be used for preparing meals. Kekkonen hiking track

The Kekkonen hiking track can be used all year round – in summer for hiking, jogging and cycling and in winter for skiing. The track was named after former Finnish president Urho Kaleva Kekkonen, who visited Kääriku. The 15 km track starts from Kääriku stadium and passes through several spots of natural beauty, including Harimägi Hill – one of the highest points in the Otepää Highlands (211.3 m above sea level). Its viewing tower, which stands 26 metres high, is right next to the hiking track. Those with more energy can follow the additional 5 km loop on Harimägi Hill.

Road Museum Machinery Hall ‘Controlling machines’ (Masinate valitsemine)

In July 2019, the exciting permanent exhibition called 'Controlling machines' (Masinate valitsemine) was opened in the new Machinery Hall of the Road Museum. The idea behind the exhibition is the contradictory power relationship between cars and their drivers. The exposition consists of three sub-expositions: car culture, traffic education, and road machine display. Each part conveys the importance and potential of controlling cars in a different way.The Machinery Hall:1,500 m2 of exhibition space120 tons of machinesNew educational programmesExciting eventsThe middle part of the hall, the Traffic Education Centre, can be converted into a conference and event hall with a capacity of up to 150 people.

Luua Arboretum

Luua Arboretum exhibits about 500 species and forms of trees and bushes. The arboretum was founded based on the principles of botanical geography with the departments for plants from Europe, Siberia, Central Asia, the Far East and North America.
