Räpina Local History and Gardening Museum

The exhibition at the Räpina Local History and Gardening Museum provides an overview of the manor and parish of Räpina, the history of the town, its tradition of gardening education and one of the oldest paper factories in Europe. A stroll around the castle park and the flowerbeds of the Gardening School is a must.

Nature Tours Estonia bogshoe hike in Emajõe-Suursoo

Emajõe-Suursoo, located in Tartu County, is home to dozens of bog islands and pristine nature, where a local guide can take you on an adventure. Since humans rarely set foot here, the area is home to a diverse range of species. Using bogshoes, we will walk across the bog islands and explore their primeval forests. We will definitely see traces of animal and bird activity and maybe even meet the local inhabitants themselves. If you are lucky, you may find a proud eagle owl or moose antlers during the hike. The trip also includes a light snack. The hike is suitable for children aged 12 and above. Friendly pets are welcome too!

Restaurant Wagenküll

Restaurant Wagenküll offers modern comfort in a historic atmosphere, as well as a view of the beautiful castle park. We have an open kitchen, which means the dishes are prepared before your very eyes – the signature dishes of Wagenküll are cooked in a Josper charcoal oven and all year round, we use as much raw ingredients from the forests and farms of southern Estonia as possible. Tasty food and good service are one of the key factors for a great holiday and a successful business trip. The menu is modern but also includes historical dishes characteristic of the castle.

The smell of freshly baked bread blends with the smell of wood creating an especially cosy and homelike atmosphere in the Handicrafts Centre's Café. Almost all the visitors praise the delicious coffee and charming interior of the Handicrafts Centre.Every traveller will get a bellyful and by previous agreement, we also offer refreshments to larger groups. The café's lunch menu includes soups and different main courses, also pizzas. We offer appetizing pies, homemade bread and other tasty snacks as well. We have special menus for groups.There are seats for 20 people in the café; the hall on the second floor accommodates up to 80 people.

Fantastic rafting trip on the Ahja River

The trip is suitable for groups of friends, families and schoolchildren. The slow waters of the winding river flow by large pine trees and ferns growing on the banks, steep sandstone outcrops covered in forest and caves.This area is the birthplace of many a folk legend – about underground castles, Devil's mills, virgins weaving fabric in deep caves, forest elves wondering about the river and water nymphs sitting on large rocks.Duration of the trip: 1.5-2 hoursWe have a raft for 7-8 persons and another for 9-10.Minimum size of the group: 6-7 peopleThe trip begins at Kiidjärve Nature Centre and ends at the dam of the Taevaskoda hydroelectric power station. After the trip, you can have a picnic by the river.

Forest megaphones in Võru County

Would you like to listen to the sounds of the forest or hear your own thoughts better in silence? Then come to Võru County to a fir forest by the RMK Pähni Nature Centre where you'll find forest megaphones – three gigantic wooden megaphones with a diameter of three metres, each named Ruup.Ruup invites you to read forest sounds and offers hikers a possibility to rest their feet and their minds. Here, you can sit, sleep, think and listen. You can select between a small and a large view, depending on which direction you look in the Ruup. Ruup is an open library with only one book – the nature.

Enjoy the good company of friends and the beautiful nature of Estonia. Catch different kinds of fish in the most species-diverse area of Estonia. Break records and get advice from an experienced fish guide. You can catch fish in the morning, afternoon, evening, and at night. In addition to the captain, the boat can accommodate seven people.You can begin the journey from the Ahja River in Lääniste, or arrange to start from the Emajõgi River in Kavastu village, in Luunja county, or any other location that suits you.The minimum package includes two hours of fishing.

Jõeniidu Holiday House

Jõeniidu Holiday House is a few kilometres from the centre of Haanja and is suitable for small groups, families and for those travelling by two.There is a pond next to the Holiday House, a sauna on the bank of a river and you can go for a boat ride. Domestic animals and goats waiting for your pat and whose everyday doings you can see here make the Jõeniidu Holiday House special. Under the hostess’s instructions it is possible to make goat cheese and bread.
