The beginning of the story of Pühaste Brewery dates back to 2011 when Eero Mander first began making beer. The brewery in Tartu was opened in 2016.The visit to the Taproom includes beer tasting and a tour of the factory, during which you can hear and see how beer is made. The Taproom can be rented for corporate events, training sessions, and birthdays. Ivan Chai is a fermented tea made from fireweed leaves. The lovely plant that attracts bees in our pure nature with its bright purple flowers in summer has recently won the hearts of many as a tea plant.Although Ivan Chai has many healing properties, this tea can also be used as a daily beverage.In June, July, August, and September, we harvest the narrow-leaved fireweed leaves in the wild and process them in the traditional way. In the workshop, we will learn how to make this wonderful tea.Duration: two hours with tea drinking (you can also choose to only learn to make the tea – 1 hour).
Cafe Johanna dates back to 2016 when we took part in the Home Cafes Day. The positive feedback from the visitors made the host so happy that they decided to offer taste experiences more than once a year.Cafe Johanna offers a variety of flavours: morning coffee with delicious pastry, with a selection of the best rolled biscuit in town, wind pockets and eclairs, and of course, Pavlova cakes. You can also buy lunch and other delicious baked goods from the cafe.Enjoy a cup of coffee and a piece cake: here, you will get a fantastic taste experience and positive memories!
The Musta Kõutsi Tavern in Tõrva offers a new menu every day - fresh salads, hot dishes, cakes, desserts and of course pancakes! Those who want to try Mulgimaa flavours will find traditional Mulgi dishes here: potato and groat porridge, buns with various fillings, and soda bread. The tavern with a comfy interior is located just a few hundred meters from the centre of Tõrva. The tavern can accommodate up to 100 guests - 60 on the first floor and 40 in the the second floor hall. Wine trainings are ideal for celebrating important events or just having fun with your friends.The basic wine training course and tasting introduces five wines, two of which are white and three are red. Our wine sommelier introduces the main grape varieties (sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, merlot, shiraz, and cabernet sauvignon), talks about the history of wine, and how to pair wine with food. Snacks are also offered. After the training, you can enjoy our à la carte menu, which offers dishes for both meat lovers and vegetarians, as well as a variety of snacks and salads. You can also satisfy your sweet tooth with delicious desserts!
