Tähtvere Sport Park

Tähtvere Sport Park, located in Tartu's Supilinn area, offers activities for everyone and is ideal for an active day. The sports park has several trail options: an 850-meter asphalt roller track for rollerblading and roller skiing in summer, an 850-meter woodchip running track, and a 1.2 km sprint track. In winter, both the roller track and the sprint track are covered with artificial snow and maintained with a trail tractor, allowing skiing in both classic and freestyle techniques even when natural snow is scarce. One of the most important and internationally known parts of Tähtvere Sport Park is the Tartu Bike Park, which features four key facilities: a skatepark, a pump track, a BMX cross track, and a bike park. These pose challenges for both experienced riders and those trying cycling for the first time. The sports park also offers a variety of exciting activities, including an outdoor gym with different areas, a climbing wall, and slackline tracks. The Tartu Song Festival Grounds and Tähtvere disc golf park are also near the park.

Ööbikuorg valley and Rõuge lakes

The Rõuge primeval valley, which is 10km long and 52m deep, contains seven lakes: Kahrila Lake, Tõugjärv, Ratasjärv, Kaussjärv, Rõuge Suurjärv, Liinjärv, and Valgjärv. The lakes are connected by the Rõuge or Ajo River, which starts from the Tindi valley. The side valleys of the Rõuge primeval valley are Tindi, Külm, Mõhk, Ööbikuorg, Tinopeetri, Hinni, Sikasoo, and Järveotsa valleys. The most famous of these is Ööbikuorg, which borders the ancient hillfort from the north. In spring, during the blossoming of bird cherry trees, the valley resonates with the song of nightingales – hence the name of the valley. Several hiking trails run through Rõuge, including the popular Ööbikuorg hiking trail, which takes visitors through the primeval valley, past lakes and springs. The trail is suitable for families with children and is partially accessible by bicycle. In summer, you can swim and paddle in the lakes, while in winter, the same trails are enjoyed by skiers and sledders. In the Rõuge settlement, there is also Estonia's deepest lake – Rõuge Suurjärv (38m) – and the largest Nature Clock in Estonia, whose hands mark the passage of time in nature's rhythm.Good to know: At the edge of Ööbikuorg, there is a visitor center and the Pesapuu observation tower, which offers a view of the entire valley.

Canoeing on the Elva River

Canoeing is for everyone - from beginners to seasoned pros! The river has something to offer people at all levels. Our goal is to ensure you enjoy yourself - not test your speed and agility on the water. You decide the course you take, how quickly you cover it, whether you do it alone or as part of a group and whether you do it to take in the scenery or for more athletic purporses. The full route covers 10 km and takes 3-4 hours to traverse. The part of the river where we take to the water is ideal for first-timers - it is slightly wider and the current more gentle.Bring with you a raincoat, mobile phone, food and drink and appropriate clothing (i.e. that will dry quickly and that you won't worry about getting dirty). Trainers or similar sports shoes are better than rubber boots.
