During this workshop exploring the tea culture of the Lake Peipsi region, we will learn about the tea drinking customs of the Old Believers and learn about Ivan Chai (fireweed tea), how it is made, and the role it has played in Peipsiveere villages. The workshop takes place at the Varnja Samovar House, which is located in a traditional Old Believer dwelling. There, you can take a closer look at the use of samovars in households around Lake Peipsi, learn about their history, and enjoy tea with the Old Believers' traditional boiled sugar. Depending on the season, participants can also try making Ivan Chai themselves. In the summer, this is done together with the hostess of Mesi Tare, who guides you through the entire process from picking the plant to drying it. During the autumn-winter period, the focus is on Ivan Chai's history and use, discussing its medicinal properties, traditional tea culture, and tasting a variety of tea flavors. And, of course, to the invaluable contribution of bees because without them, there would be no mead. Nöösker is Estonia's first modern meadery. We break tradition, combining the wisdom of beer and wine masters in a new way. At the heart of our meads are Estonian honey, berries, fruits, and more exotic spices. Come and discover this restless animal — Nöösker. Bring your companions for a visit (by reservation!), and we will introduce you to the world of mead for an hour and a half.

Trepp is a shot bar where you can have a great time and try different interesting cocktails. The pub is located on the first floor and the stairs, which are probably easier to climb than to come down from afterwards, have given the pub its name (trepp is Estonian for stairs). We have delicious shots, fancy cocktails, lovely music, and a cosy atmosphere. Trepp – a friendly pub for friendly people!

Vastseliina Castle is a place worth discovering in South Estonia — with 14th-century castle ruins, a sacred site, interactive activities, and interesting history. Vastseliina Castle Tavern is located in the former stable room of the historic Piiri Tavern, and the castle kitchen prepares medieval dishes inspired by historical recipes and festive table customs. The tavern is open daily during the summer months. In the autumn-winter season, guests can enjoy a rich medieval-inspired feast or more modest festive dishes by pre-order. All offered meals are prepared on-site in the castle kitchen, and the kitchen staff prefers to use as much local seasonal produce as possible. The tavern can also set up a welcome and coffee table if needed. Feasts are welcome for groups consisting of at least 20 and no more than 60 guests. In addition to the feast, you can order a castle tour or a suitable workshop. The castle staff requests that you inform them of your intention to visit at least five working days in advance.

Kolm Sõsarat (The Three Sisters) is a cosy restaurant in Lüllemäe Village, Valga County, which combines modern high quality cuisine, organic produce, and genuine love for the guests. Café Newton, located in the center of Tartu at the AHHAA Science Center, is a pleasant place for both lunch and leisure. Our menu offers a refreshing, varied selection of daily specials and classic dishes. The selection includes soups, various steaks, and vegetarian dishes. Every day, a fresh cake selection is displayed at the counter, delighting every sweet tooth. A separate menu is provided for children, tailored to our young guests, along with a children's play area offering plenty of activities for longer periods. Café Newton offers catering for training sessions, seminars, birthdays, and other events at AHHAA. It is also convenient to organize a company Christmas party, a birthday party, or a family lunch here. Café Newton's menu is flexible and caters to all tastes. During the summer, you can enjoy the panoramic view of Tartu from our spacious terrace. No AHHAA ticket is required to visit Café Newton, and entry is free for everyone. AHHAA visitors can visit the café throughout their stay at the center.
