Illuminated kicksled trip in Taevaskoja

The hike will last up to three hours. We will ice skate along the channels that are covered with smooth ice. We will also skate over/around flooded meadows, stop at beaver dams and otter burrows, explore animal tracks on the snow, and admire Lake Peipus as well. In the middle of the hike, we will take a short break to drink tea and have a bite to eat. If it is allowed to go on Lake Peipus at the time of the hike, we will skate back along the shore of Lake Peipus. Spend the romantic hours of twilight with the lantern hike on a bog's boardwalk or on snowshoes. The hike with lanterns can last from 1.5 to 4 hours. Book the Forest Restaurant's catering for the end of the hike. You can also go on the night hike with kicksleds or snowshoes. Ask for suggestions on hiking areas, routes and beautiful campsites! A lighted boat trip on Koorküla's Lake Valgjärv takes you on an evening journey into an underwater world! Koorküla's Lake Valgjärv, with its clear water, mysterious atmosphere, and stunning natural beauty, is the perfect spot for a leisurely boat trip. The trip, starting at dusk, takes you on a boat across the lake, with light strips beneath the boat illuminating the lakebed and creating an enchanting atmosphere. During the trip, you can peek into the underwater world, with good visibility allowing you to see up to 2–3 meters deep. On the journey, you might encounter small and large fish, and, if you're lucky, crayfish and beavers. In the fall, you can see them gathering their winter supplies. The guide takes you to exciting observation spots – to the beaver nests on the opposite shore, over underwater wooden ruins, and into the reeds where fish spend the night. We divide the group into rafts to ensure the light play on the lake is as effective as possible and the experience is as uniform as possible. Enjoy the romantic play of light and dark and Taevaskoja's charm. We travel with lanterns and kicksleds along the trails of Taevaskoja. The trip is led by an experienced tour guide who tells exciting stories about nature, animals, and the region. The air is full of nighttime mystery. Before the trip, there is kicksledding instruction, so everyone can learn to gracefully and competently use the wonderful vehicle, the kicksled. The trip is intended for adults. We travel at a leisurely pace, taking breaks to chat and look for signs of animal activity. In the mystery of nighttime, we can take time to pay attention to ourselves, our companions, and the interesting things around us.

The host of Mesi Tare will take your group on an adventure to Piirissaar, a small island in Lake Peipsi! We start from the Varnja Harbor, where the host will be waiting with a fishing boat. The boat trip lasts two hours, depending on the weather and water level. We will walk with a guide through Piirissaar's three villages and see all the important places on the island, including the Piirissaare Old Believers Museum, the location of the Old Believers' prayer house, the Orthodox church and the Piirissaare Titanic. For lunch, the guide will take you to Zinaida's home, where she will lay out a magnificent table for her guests. (Note: The food must be paid for on the spot.) The day ends with a boat trip back to Varnja.

A hike about a kilometre long with a guide and lanterns on the territory of Kalevipoeg's Home. We will visit the local history exhibition in ancient buildings and the playground, pass through a pine forest and the adventure park. We will drink tea that has been boiled on a campfire.Suitable for groups of different ages - kindergarten children, school groups, groups of coworkers, families, friend groups, etc. Catering can also be arranged and rooms can be rented in the community centre or museum. The lantern tour can be a part of your visit or a special occasion for a visit.Addditionally, you can visit the Kalevipoeg Museum and go sledding, ice skating and tubing in winter when there's snow.

Although West Estonia is known to most of people as a place to observe migratory birds in the spring, then Southeast Estonia is almost as fascinating. At Lämmijärv and its surrounding region it is possible to encounter various migratory waterfowls and local eagles. In addition, we also have virgin forests with rivers and wetlands, where one can observe different species of owls, woodpeckers, hazel grouses and forest birds such as crossbills, northern goshawks, river kingfishers, etc. You can encounter a moose or hear the howling of a wolf.
