Eduard Tubin Museum

The museum is located on the first floor of Alatskivi Castle and provides an overview of the life and work of one of Estonia’s most famous composers – Eduard Tubin. The exhibition introduces other well-known musicians who studied with Tubin in Tartu under the guidance of Heino Eller – the so-called School of Tartu. At the museum, you can see and hear Tubin’s manuscripts, recordings, and books. In addition, you are introduced to those who have interpreted his music and displayed musical instruments, records, and theatre programmes connected to Tubin. You can also look at and watch photos and films created by the composer.You can enter the museum with a ticket to Alatskivi Castle, and it is also possible to order a guide as an additional service.

Boat trip on the historic barge “Jõmmu”

The barge Jõmmu is a traditional wooden merchant sailing ship, the only one of its kind to have been restored. Step aboard and sail on a historic ship and enjoy the beauty of Emajõe-Peipsi's nature and views of the city of Tartu! Barge trips can be booked for larger groups for seminars, birthdays, or other special events. Smaller groups are welcome on scheduled trips. Coffee and tea are served on the ship, and it is possible to order catering, guide service, a bagpiper, workshops, and an overnight stay on the barge. Set sail on the historic Jõmmu!

Saatse Museum

The Saatse Museum's main building was originally a residential building, then a school building, and now it's a museum. What makes Saatse Museum special are the texts painted on the wall and the opportunity to watch old film clips about the history and religion of Setomaa. The former classroom on the upper floor is set up in the style of the Soviet era. The museum has a spacious outdoor area and a small stage, so it's a nice place to have a picnic. A small hiking trail runs along the border and starts and ends at the museum — it can be walked even when the museum is closed.

Kick sledge hike on the ice of Lake Pühajärv or along the sports tracks

Otepää's excellent snow conditions and varied landscape with narrow forest trails and prepared sleigh roads are perfect for kick sledging. Ice conditions permitting, an entirely unique experience is provided by a kick sledge hike across the lake ice.Many participants haven't used a kick sledge since their childhood. Some try it for the first time; however, anyone can master it!The guides add fun to the gathering breaks with games and exciting tales about nature.During the 2–4 hour hike, we will cover about 7 km of winter roads.The size of the group starts from 10 people.This is an EHE product (ecotourism quality mark Genuine and Interesting Estonia).

Nature Tours Estonia traditional berry and mushroom picking trips in Emajõe-Suursoo

The wetlands, bogs, and forests of the Peipsiveere Nature Reserve are rich in berries and mushrooms, and picking them has always been a summer tradition for Estonians. Led by an experienced guide with a forager's soul, we will hike to places where you can find Estonian nature's top delicacies, like blueberries and cranberries. We will learn how to find these berry and mushroom spots, what to pick, what to leave in the forest, and how to preserve berries and mushrooms for the winter. The trips take place from mid-July to mid-October. At the end of the trip, we will prepare a delicious dish from the natural products we have picked over a campfire in the forest. Join us to go foraging for berries and mushrooms!

‘Tartu City Manors’ Guided cycling tour

Did you know that historically, there were nine manor houses in Tartu? The city of Tartu has expanded in all directions to the areas of former manors, and several districts have been named after these manors. Seven of them still exist and are waiting for you to visit.As part of the guided tour 'Tartu City Manors', we will visit five manors: Tähtvere, Maarjamõisa, Tamme, Ropka, and Karlova. Mesi Tare winter day on Lake Peipsi

In winter, when Lake Peipsi is frozen, the Mesi Tare family offers guests a real adventure holiday — a winter day on Lake Peipsi! The host takes the group out onto the lake ice in a karakat (a vehicle specially built for driving on ice), teaches them how to fish, and catches fish from an ice hole with the group. The fish that are caught are used to make a delicious soup in a pot set up on the lake ice. After a 3-hour karakat safari and ice fishing, a heated tent sauna awaits on shore, where you can warm up your body and then cool off in an ice hole! Enjoy an authentic Lake Peipsi experience with your family, children, and pets!
