The square is surrounded by pastel-colored historical buildings, with the 18th-century Town Hall at its center. The focal point of the square's classicist architecture is the Kissing Students Fountain, which has become a symbol of the city and a popular meeting place for locals and visitors. During the summer season, Town Hall Square is filled with café terraces, events, and street music, while in winter it transforms into a magical Christmas City and ice rink. The carillon bells in the Town Hall tower are the oldest and largest in Estonia, delighting listeners with a variety of melodies throughout the year. The famous Leaning House, home to the Tartu Art Museum, is located in Town Hall Square. Just a few steps away, you'll find Toome Hill Park, the ruins of Tartu Cathedral, and several other Old Town attractions. Several guided tours also start from Town Hall Square.
The hiking trail on the Luhasoo landscape protection area is a 5 km long loop, partially covered with a boardwalk. In the center of the trail, there is a small forest hut on a bog island for overnight stays. Hiking in the flat terrain of Luhasoo offers a contrast to the otherwise hilly nature of Võrumaa. The peace and quiet of the bog help nerves to relax from city noise and daily activities. The boardwalk-covered part is easy to traverse even with children. It is possible to take breaks along the way. Luhasoo bog is known for its dark-water pools and moss fields shimmering between them. As you move along the trail, picturesque views of the bog lake and surrounding transition bog landscape unfold — it's an ideal place to breathe in clean air, take a break, and recharge naturally. The hike offers both visual diversity and an opportunity to truly escape the noise of everyday life. Good to know: firewood needed for the forest hut should be taken from the shelter at the start of the boardwalk. The forest hut is available for free use.

Tampere House is located in the historical centre of Tartu, one of the oldest preserved wooden houses in Tartu (built in 1739).The Gallery of Tampere House presents Estonian and Finnish art. Exhibitions alternate every three weeks! Visiting the exhibition is free!

Preferably at 5 p.m. (or at other times as an exception), we taste 3 different fermented teas made following the traditional method. These include, in addition to vine leaves and currant leaves, the famous Ivan Chai, which was drunk by both the tsar’s family and the common people, as the tea is known for its excellent taste and healing properties.We will also talk about the local life and ancient times.Fermented teas, home wines, and other Alatskivi edible souvenirs can also be purchased.
