University of Tartu Botanical Garden

The University of Tartu Botanical Garden offers study programmes and excursions for visitors of all ages. There are more than 10,000 species and varieties of plants in the garden. In addition to natural plants, including rare protected plants, we introduce new decorative plants. In the greenhouses, rainforest and desert plants can be seen.
We are the oldest botanical garden in the Baltic States, operating for more than 200 years in the same location. The garden is designed by world-renowned botanists, professors Ledebour and Bunge. Guests can visit the greenhouses with a ticket, but the garden is open for everyone for free. There is a playground for children.

Ülenurme Park

The Ülenurme Manor Park was established in the second half of the 19th century when the new manor was built. The Historicist main building of the manor, as well as the smaller buildings next to the park, which are used by the Estonian Agricultural Museum, have been well preserved.Here, you can see farm animals, ride ponies, and visit exhibitions. From 15 May 2021 to 30 April 2022, you can visit the wonderful exhibition of agricultural machinery models 'World of Mini Tractors'.Ülenurme Park is a wonderful place for the whole family to walk and enjoy nature. There are information boards in the park,so you can study the different types of trees and shrubs growing here.

Sookalduse daffodil field

The field of naturally growing daffodils, which is unique in the Baltic states, can be found in the Vara rural municipality. Yellow daffodils are rare in the wild and the daffodil field in Sookalduse is a rarity that has been taken under conservation. The daffodils originate from the bulb that Peep Sibul, the landlord of Sookalduse, got from Saare Manor and planted in his garden in the end of the 19th century.The yellow sea of flowers can be enjoyed from around the middle of April, depending on the spring.

Vana-Vastseliina manor park

The park in Vana-Vastseliina was established in 1830 by the then owner of Vastseliina Manor Guido Reinhold von Liphart, who designed a beautiful species-rich 8-hectare park. The bandstand has been preserved, where folk festivals take place. Bird lovers will be delighted by the rare species nesting in old tree cavities. You can also admire Estonia's fastest-flowing Piusa River.In 2016, 25 new trees were planted in the park, one of them in honour of the Lipharts.The 15 km long hiking trail of Piusa River valley starts from the park.The manor park can be reached from Vastseliina Episcopal Castle by coming down a romantic staircase or from the highway a little further away.

Luunja Rose Garden

Luunja Rose Garden is a beautiful, unique, and popular concert venue with a stunning view by the Emajõgi River. It has a long history and a total of 58 rose varieties grow there. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, a new rose variety called Luunja by Estonian rose breeder Mart Ojasalu was planted in the rose garden. It is dedicated to locals and all Estonians.It is a unique variety, the aim of which is to give the people of Luunja municipality, above all, a sense of togetherness and to leave future generations with an admirable rose garden.

Garden of Mikko Farm

Mikko farm is located in Põlva County by a creek in Tänassilma village.The garden was established in 1996, and over the years, it has grown into a farm garden in English style that covers 2 hectares and is rich in species; its varied landscape offers picturesque views. There are several separate areas and over 1,000 taxons. We also have a small tree nursery.You can visit the garden upon previous notice. If you wish, you can also order a coffee break or catering in the seminar building.

Monument Park (Ausamba park) in Räpina

The park is the city's historical representative square on the eastern shore of the Räpina artificial lake.What makes the park unique is the fact that two obelisks dedicated to the fallen soldiers stand side by side there. The new design of the park highlights the monument erected for the soldiers who fought in the Estonian War of Independence, and next to it, behind the thujas, is a memorial to the soldiers of the Soviet Army.The park is popular because it is located on the shores of the Räpina artificial lake. In addition, there are a lot of different species and an impressive poplar boulevard that leads to the city's public swimming area.

Palusalu Garden

The garden was founded in 2004. The size of the flower garden is 1.5 ha; 0.5 ha of this is for planting. Picturesque views of the forest, hilly landscape and the Võhandu river can be enjoyed from the plot. Special attention has been paid to plant communities that require little care, frost resistant and healthy coniferous tree varieties and deciduous trees and bushes. The garden has been designed in English style, while keeping in mind all four seasons. More than 2000 taxa are represented here.The garden can be visited upon prior agreement. The minimum size of the group is 5 people. It is also possible to order luncheons for groups.

Luunja Manor Park

Luunja Manor Park was established in the 18th century as a Baroque park by Count B.C. von Münnich and redesigned as an irregular landscape park at the end of the 19th century.There is a rose garden near the park that is a great place for cultural events, picnics, and walks in the summer. In addition to the park, there are also several historical monuments in the exhibition areas of the manor. These include the alleys of the manor, the walls surrounding the park and the garden, the old distillery and smithy, the gardener's house, and a cattle-barn complex.
