The 19th-century Tartu Citizen’s Home Museum

On the edge of Vooremaa near Lake Peipus is Ulge Farm, where the hosting family has been growing different berry crops for decades. The family has answers to a variety of questions: how to successfully grow strawberries, what do pumpkins love, why should you grow chokeberries, or ... why not make wine from local ingredients?We have stored the unique flavours in a bottle and opened the doors for everyone who wants to have a taste-rich experience.Come and visit us – we will walk around the farm, see what is growing in the field and what kind of agricultural techniques we use, and taste good local wine!

The museum is located on the first floor of Alatskivi Castle and provides an overview of the life and work of one of Estonia's most famous composers – Eduard Tubin. The exhibition introduces other well-known musicians who studied with Tubin in Tartu under the guidance of Heino Eller – the so-called School of Tartu. At the museum, you can see and hear Tubin's manuscripts, recordings, and books. In addition, you are introduced to those who have interpreted his music and displayed musical instruments, records, and theatre programmes connected to Tubin. You can also look at and watch photos and films created by the composer.You can enter the museum with a ticket to Alatskivi Castle, and it is also possible to order a guide as an additional service.

Come and take a look at the one-storey classicist wooden building on the slope of Toomemägi in Tartu. Naturalist Karl Ernst von Baer used to live in the house from 1869 to 1896. The house was restored and turned into the Baer House Museum in 1976. The building currently belongs to the Estonian University of Life Sciences and houses the von Baer Natural History Centre.

It is an architectural attraction, a museum, a center for organizing events, an information center, and a sales point for local products and services. Luke Manor in Tartu County offers an engaging tour that introduces the manor and its beautiful park. During the walk, stories of Luke Manor's history unfold, and you have the chance to explore the Gardener's House, the Handicraft Workshop, and the historic Steward's House. The tour is well-suited for both smaller groups and larger gatherings and can be combined with other events, providing guests with a memorable cultural experience. Luke Manor Park is one of the best-preserved parks in Southern Estonia, with its original layout, offering a wonderful environment for walking, enjoying nature, and experiencing the unique historical manor atmosphere. In addition to the tour, catering can be ordered from the Luke Manor kitchen, enriching the visit with local flavors and a cozy atmosphere. During the tour, you can purchase Luke Manor's handicrafts. By prior arrangement, the visit can be combined with various additional activities, such as organizing a seminar or catering packages.

A canoe trip on the Põltsamaa River takes you away from the city directly into the silence of the bog. The Põltsamaa River flows through the Endla Nature Reserve, where views of the authentic bog landscape open up. Nature is constantly changing: water levels, weather, and seasons make each trip unique. During the trip, you can stop and step directly onto the edge of the bog from the canoe to pick cranberries, bilberries, or rare cloudberries. The journey takes you through quiet river stretches, offering real relaxation and the peace of nature. The trip can be chosen as a one-day, two-day, or multi-day adventure. There is an option to make a detour to Lake Endla. A shorter route can be completed at the Kirikumäe campfire site, while the longer route ends at Jõeküla Bridge. If desired, you can continue from there for a multi-day journey. The Põltsamaa River is known for its clear water and is very popular among fishermen. Before or after the canoe trip, it is worth exploring the nearby springs (Norra Springs, Oostriku Springs, Sopa Spring, etc.). A true nature experience awaits — grab a paddle and come discover!

Hellenurme Mill Museum in Southern Estonia is the last operational historical watermill in Estonia and one of the few examples of a water-powered mill as industrial heritage in the Nordic countries. Visiting the mill feels like a trip back in time. Visitors can see century-old equipment across four floors of the mill, from the turbine to the milling machines and millstones, which still grind rye into bread flour. In the bread house, the mill hostess offers guests traditional Estonian rye bread made on-site and shares stories that bring the everyday life of centuries past to life. The large mill building of Hellenurme Manor, built in 1880 in Tartu County, hides surprises at every step. In addition to the working mill, guests can enjoy workshops and meals in the bread house. It is possible to stay overnight in the freshly renovated mill chambers, which offer views of the river and lake. Visitors can admire the lake's beauty and the surrounding nature.Here, you can also enjoy cultural events and celebrate festive moments with friends, family, or colleagues.
