Canoe trip near Otepää

A canoe trip on the Võhandu River in spring definitely requires previous paddling experience, but it certainly offers an adventure. The river is fast-flowing, with rapids and old mill sites (the most famous are Viira, Süvahavva, and Reo Mills) that demand great attention from the paddler. When descending from the mill dams, the person sitting in the front seat may get a bucketful of crisp water over the canoe sides onto their lap. Capsizing is not uncommon at Viira artificial rapids, but we have considered it and made preparations. The trip organizer provides instructions at the beginning of the trip and serves as a guide from the shore at mill dams and bridge locations, where photos of the paddlers are taken. The river is surrounded by sandstone cliffs. In summer, the water flow is calmer, and certain parts of the river may run low on water. The trip can also be planned as a 2-3 day journey, covering the entire Võhandu Marathon route. With the spring high water, it is possible to complete Estonia's longest downstream waterway, approximately 154 km long. We organize the trip for groups starting from 6 members.

The canoe raft consists of three interconnected canoes, to which a platform for comfort has been added. One canoe raft comfortably accommodates 6–11 people, four or six of whom will have to paddle. In total, we have four canoe rafts. You can have a picnic, take photos, catch fish, sunbathe, etc. on the canoe raft. Small children, grandparents, and even smaller pets are also welcome on the canoe raft trip.About 20 sandstone outcrops are exposed on the Taevaskoja reservoir, which makes it one of the most unique and beautiful lakes in Estonia. Take a picnic basket and bring your friends to Taevaskoda!

Come on an overnight canoe trip around Emajõe-Suursoo, which is known for its rich biodiversity. Traveling by canoe along the rivers and lakes of the bog offers a unique natural experience in places that can only be discovered by water. We start the canoe trip in the silence of the early morning, and it ends the next day at lunchtime. You will get to experience what it's like to sleep in a hanging bed (rental available from the organizer) amidst the sounds of nature at night. The trip includes equipment, tour guide service, trip organization, and meals. The trip is suitable for children aged 13 and above.

During the drier summer period, we paddle down larger rivers, where the water flows more calmly. During spring and autumn's high water seasons, there is an opportunity to discover less frequently visited waterways, such as the floods in Soomaa National Park. It is possible to order campfire meals or a bushcraft workshop to go along with your canoe trip. There is also the possibility of going on multi-day trips. Emajõe-Suursoo, located in the Peipsiveere Nature Reserve, is an exciting and wild place, a labyrinth of rivers and lakes. On the canoe trip, we move through the wetlands, rivers, and lakes, enjoying the peace and quiet. We will look for traces of birds and animals and may even meet them face-to-face. The trip is also suitable for beginners. We can organize the canoe trip at a time that suits you, even at sunrise or sunset. The trip lasts four hours and includes a small picnic on a bog island. On all trips, a guide will ensure the safety of your group.

The longest River in Estonia - Võhandu (162 km) flows through Võru and Põlva County in its beautiful and abrupt bed surrounded by sandstone outcrops. An elaborate 80 km independent canoe hike, kayak hike or raft hike is suitable for both families and friends to familiarize themselves with Estonian nature. Hikers move on their own, designing their own hiking day, movement schedule and journey length. Overnight in tents, meals are made on Primus. The tips and additional materials required for the hike can be obtained by ordering and hiking from the hiking guide at the starting location. The hotspots can be viewed on the RMK website.

The adventure on the Kooraste lakes takes place on 11 different bodies of water – lakes Vidrike, Voki, Lambahanna, Nahajärv, Sinikejärv, Lubjaahju, Liinu, Pikkjärv, Vaaba, Hatsike and Kooraste Suurjärv – connected by the narrow, winding Sillaotsa River. A primeval valley, beaver dams, and wild nature are just some of the things you will see and experience on this trip. During spring, there is plenty of water, but in drier seasons, there are some sections where you may have to carry your canoe with you. The lakes are normally warm in summer and perfect for swimming.We welcome families with children and groups of friends and colleagues. We organise trips for both small and large groups.
