Musta Kõutsi Tavern

The Musta Kõutsi Tavern in Tõrva offers a new menu every day – fresh salads, hot dishes, cakes, desserts and of course pancakes! Those who want to try Mulgimaa flavours will find traditional Mulgi dishes here: potato and groat porridge, buns with various fillings, and soda bread.  The tavern with a comfy interior is located just a few hundred meters from the centre of Tõrva. The tavern can accommodate up to 100 guests – 60 on the first floor and 40 in the the second floor hall. Musta Kõutsi Tavern offers its rooms year-round for organising birthdays, weddings, memorial gatherings other events.You are welcome!

Tartu Von Bock House

You will certainly notice the Von Bock House (1780) at Ülikooli 16 in the centre of Tartu, which used to belong to Oberst MJ von Bock. The University of Tartu bought the building in 1839. The house was renovated and reopened in 2007. There is a mural that depicts the main building of the University of Tartu on the building’s wall that faces the Town Hall and an exhibition of Alar Madisson’s photos of current lecturers and legendary professors of the University of Tartu is up on the wall next to Jakobi Street.Interesting facts: - the Von Bock has been the home of the University of Tartu Clinic, a veterinary school and the library of the Learned Estonian Society in different times. The building currently belongs to the University of Tartu.

Statue of Oskar Luts

The monument to Oskar Luts was erected in 1987. The authors of the monument were A. Rimm and A. Murdmaa.Oskar Luts (1887–1953) was an Estonian writer. His best known and loved novel is Kevade (Spring), a lyrical and humorous tale based on school memories. He has also written plays, children’s stories, memoirs, and feuilletons. The writer's house museum is located at 38 Riia Street in Tartu. There, he lived for the last 17 years of his life. Oskar Luts was buried in the St Paul’s Cemetery in Tartu.

In addition, you can stay in the small Stableboys' Chamber, the bigger Pub Keeper's Chamber or the Illinger and Pööni Chambers.Here, you can organize events and parties in a spectacular vaulted red-brick cellar. Tillu Cafe is situated on the premises of a romantic farm shop on the outskirts of Põlva. Monument to Villem Reiman

The new monument to Villem Reiman (1861-1917) was opened in 2004 and its author is Mati Varik.Villem Reiman was a pastor and a cultural persona who fought for the independence of the Estonian people as a figurehead of the Estonian national movement.
