The museum introduces the life led by farmers in the 18th century and the everyday lives and work of our forefathers. There are five oak sculptures created by St Petersburg artist Grigori Azarenkov by the museum. The museum is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, which make it a popular venue for folk parties and theatre performances.

Kogo Gallery is an internationally operating contemporary art gallery located in Tartu's Aparaaditehas. The gallery focuses on a younger generation of artists and supports their international visibility by introducing their work to a wider audience. Kogo's mission is to foster free creation, interdisciplinary thinking, imagination, and novel ideas, and to initiate and maintain creative relationships by bringing together creative individuals and art enthusiasts. The gallery's diverse exhibition program features both solo projects by artists and curator-created exhibitions. In addition to exhibitions, Kogo organizes a variety of public programs at the gallery. The gallery also involves experts from different fields in its activities to develop dialogue on important societal issues. The permanent exhibition Earth. Life. Story. includes nearly 8,000 scientific exhibit items, which tell the development story of planet Earth from the beginning of the universe until the modern day. At the exhibition, you can explore the traces of life from millions of years ago, admire shiny minerals, watch the so-called night airport of butterflies, or track the movement of the placoderm fish from the Devonian era. You can look the first jackal caught in Estonia in the eye and experience the human body through the eyes of a reptile. Visitors will be glad to see the favourites of several generations: the elk, bison, and giraffe. You will also be able to taste our products. The wetlands, bogs, and forests of the Peipsiveere Nature Reserve are rich in berries and mushrooms, and picking them has always been a summer tradition for Estonians. Led by an experienced guide with a forager's soul, we will hike to places where you can find Estonian nature's top delicacies, like blueberries and cranberries. We will learn how to find these berry and mushroom spots, what to pick, what to leave in the forest, and how to preserve berries and mushrooms for the winter. The trips take place from mid-July to mid-October. At the end of the trip, we will prepare a delicious dish from the natural products we have picked over a campfire in the forest. Join us to go foraging for berries and mushrooms!

Explore South Estonia's nature by bike, and find joy and peace at Taevaskoja. Near Taevaskoja village lies the Ahja River Valley Landscape Protection Area with its enchanting sandstone outcrops. The most famous of these are the Great and Small Taevaskoda. You can explore this special landscape by riding a standard or electric fatbike. You can rent an electric or regular, pedal-powered fatbike, helmet, riding instructions, and a mobile trail map from us. With the map, you can find the most magical landscape views and cultural sites in the area. Our bikes are suitable for everyone over 150 cm tall. Previous experience is not required; anyone interested can handle the ride well. We have a total of 35 bikes. If you wish to ride further, we rent bike racks for attaching to a car tow hook or a roof rack to transport the bikes. You can also come to our rental point by bus or train; the stop closest to us is called Kiidjärve.

The monument to the physician who studied and became a professor in Tartu was completed in 1952. The authors of the monument are J Raudsepp, A Mölder, P Tarvas, A Volberg.Nikolai Pirogov was the founder of experimental surgery, topographic anatomy and field surgery. His work made the surgeries performed in Tartu famous all over Russia and also abroad.
