The central square of Põlva is like a living room in the open air. It is a nice meeting place in the city centre that attracts people of all ages. Children can play in the sandbox, on the small slide, and near the fountain. They can also play table tennis. There are long benches for sitting, single stools surrounded by grasses, swings with a backrest, wide stands for lying down, and large blocks for climbing. A special pier and changing room have been built for visitors in wheelchairs. During the winter, a winter swimming pool is open on the beach. A canoe trip on the Põltsamaa River takes you away from the city directly into the silence of the bog. The Põltsamaa River flows through the Endla Nature Reserve, where views of the authentic bog landscape open up. Nature is constantly changing: water levels, weather, and seasons make each trip unique. During the trip, you can stop and step directly onto the edge of the bog from the canoe to pick cranberries, bilberries, or rare cloudberries. The journey takes you through quiet river stretches, offering real relaxation and the peace of nature. The trip can be chosen as a one-day, two-day, or multi-day adventure. There is an option to make a detour to Lake Endla. A shorter route can be completed at the Kirikumäe campfire site, while the longer route ends at Jõeküla Bridge. If desired, you can continue from there for a multi-day journey. The Põltsamaa River is known for its clear water and is very popular among fishermen. Before or after the canoe trip, it is worth exploring the nearby springs (Norra Springs, Oostriku Springs, Sopa Spring, etc.). A true nature experience awaits — grab a paddle and come discover!

During the Tartu Nature House's natural cosmetics workshop, you can create hand and body creams, body scrubs, and lip balms with your preferred scent and composition. We mainly use organic and natural ingredients – unrefined oils, waxes, and other skin-friendly materials. In the workshop, we share practical advice on where to find high-quality natural cosmetics ingredients and what to look out for when selecting them. We also discuss the effects of cosmetic products on our skin, health, and the environment, and touch on waste.The workshop is organized on the principle that the tools and ingredients used are mostly already available at home or can be easily obtained. All participants receive a recipe sheet to make their favorite products at home. Workshops are held at the Tartu Nature House, but by agreement, we can also come to your event. Of the Orthodox churches in Võru County, Ritsiku church in Mõniste is the second oldest (dating back to 1855). The oldest is St Catherine's Church in Võru itself.The church in Ritsiku was consecrated in the name of the prophet John the Baptist. Its name day is celebrated by the congregation every year on 24 June.The congregation was established in 1837. The church was constructed from timber and has a tin roof. It was originally known as Mõniste church, since it was located on the lands of the Mõniste estate. But since it was not in Mõniste itself, it was renamed Ritsiku church in Mõniste.The sacristan and parson did a lot of work in educating the local community. Until 1931 the congregation had its own parish school and three smaller schools.
