Tartu Nature House natural cosmetics workshop

Lille tn 10, Tartu linn, Tartu maakond, 51010

During the Tartu Nature House’s natural cosmetics workshop, you can create hand and body creams, body scrubs, and lip balms with your preferred scent and composition. We mainly use organic and natural ingredients – unrefined oils, waxes, and other skin-friendly materials.
In the workshop, we share practical advice on where to find high-quality natural cosmetics ingredients and what to look out for when selecting them. We also discuss the effects of cosmetic products on our skin, health, and the environment, and touch on waste. The workshop is organized on the principle that the tools and ingredients used are mostly already available at home or can be easily obtained. All participants receive a recipe sheet to make their favorite products at home.
Workshops are held at the Tartu Nature House, but by agreement, we can also come to your event. Come and discover the joy of DIY and create your own natural cosmetics!

Workshop about the tea culture on the shores of Lake Peipsi

During this workshop exploring the tea culture of the Lake Peipsi region, we will learn about the tea drinking customs of the Old Believers and learn about Ivan Chai (fireweed tea), how it is made, and the role it has played in Peipsiveere villages. The workshop takes place at the Varnja Samovar House, which is located in a traditional Old Believer dwelling. There, you can take a closer look at the use of samovars in households around Lake Peipsi, learn about their history, and enjoy tea with the Old Believers' traditional boiled sugar. Depending on the season, participants can also try making Ivan Chai themselves. In the summer, this is done together with the hostess of Mesi Tare, who guides you through the entire process from picking the plant to drying it. During the autumn-winter period, the focus is on Ivan Chai's history and use, discussing its medicinal properties, traditional tea culture, and tasting a variety of tea flavors. Visit us with a group or team for the Peipsiveere tea culture workshop!

Truffle workshop at Mulgi Experience Center

Let's make delicious kama truffles together! Kama is often considered one of Estonia's national dishes. In the workshop, we roast kama flour, mix it with creamy filling and flavorful additions, and shape it into delightful balls. Then we decorate the kama truffles. Each participant can prepare 6 to 8 truffles to take home. A pleasant and flavorful experience for every participant! We recommend adding a guided tour or a walk in our yard at the Mulgi Experience Center. In the exhibition house, visitors are greeted with interactive solutions that introduce the culture and history of Mulgimaa in an engaging way. After the workshop, you can meet the center's friendly animals, visit the linen barn, and discover how linen fabric was made in the past. The Mulgi Experience Center opens the door to the essence of the Mulgi people and Mulgi cultural heritage. It is an ideal place to spend a pleasant time with friends or colleagues. Write to us about your wishes and ideas, and we will find the most suitable solution for you.
