Model of Kivisild

Vabaduse pst 1c, Tartu linn, Tartu maakond, 51004

The first stone bridge to be constructed in the Baltic States was erected in the 18th century at one end of the Town Hall Square in Tartu, with two triumphal arches and a raisable mid-section. Dedicated to Russian empress Catherine II, it was opened to traffic in 1784. The bridge was destroyed during World War II. All that remains to admire is the 2004 model of the bridge (created by Tiiu Kirsipuu).

Romantic lamplit kicksled trip to Taevaskoja

Enjoy the romantic play of light and dark and Taevaskoja's charm. We travel with lanterns and kicksleds along the trails of Taevaskoja. The trip is led by an experienced tour guide who tells exciting stories about nature, animals, and the region. The air is full of nighttime mystery. Before the trip, there is kicksledding instruction, so everyone can learn to gracefully and competently use the wonderful vehicle, the kicksled. The trip is intended for adults. We travel at a leisurely pace, taking breaks to chat and look for signs of animal activity. In the mystery of nighttime, we can take time to pay attention to ourselves, our companions, and the interesting things around us.

Tehvandi Ski Apartment

Tehvandi Ski Apartment is a studio apartment with all the conveniences. It is located in a safe apartment building near the Tehvandi Sports Centre, just 300 m from the centre of Otepää. We offer cosy accommodation with modern kitchen furniture and an LCD TV. Guests can sleep in two single beds and a sofa bed. We welcome athletes, families, as well as vacation and nature enthusiasts. We look forward to seeing you!

August Teppo’s Accordion Museum

August Teppo was a famous accordionist of Võru County. Today, his home farm has been turned into a museum. Visitors can see his workshop, as well as learn about the lifestyle typical of the era. In addition to the exhibition, the museum also organises trainings and cultural events.Good to know: the museum is only open to visitors upon booking during the summer months.

Kullipera Holiday Home

Kullipera Holiday Home is located in Haanja, Võru County. We offer accommodation in a beautiful, peaceful place where families with children or groups of friends are welcome. It is possible to rent the more spacious party-seminar hall (for up to approx. 20 people) to organize birthdays, seminars, workshops, and other events. The main farmhouse has three bedrooms (for 10 people), a shared living room-kitchen, and a shower room. The sauna house, with two bedrooms for up to six people, can also be rented in the summer. Three camping cabins can accommodate up to 10 people in spring and summer. Additional facilities include breakfast (by prior arrangement), bicycle rental, a camping area, a grill area, sauna, disc golf, and a winter tubing track.

Vanamõisa Beach

Tõrva's Vanamõisa Lake is a popular summer destination for both locals and visitors from afar. The lake is located on the outskirts of the city, near Tõrva Veemõnula Water and Sauna Center. At the edge of Vanamõisa Lake stands the Baltics' highest diving tower, Tõrva Lion Tower. It was built in place of the legendary Tõrva Vanamõisa diving tower, offering visitors a safe and exciting opportunity for summer water fun. The tower has five floors, each with a diving platform into the lake. The height of the last platform above the water surface is 11 meters, and the total height of the tower, including light masts, reaches 14 meters. In addition to the long sandy shore, the beach features a boardwalk and ball game courts. During the summer season, lifeguards are on duty at the beach from 11 AM to 7 PM. Visitors can rent volleyball, badminton sets, and spikeball sets from the lifeguard. Changing rooms and toilets are available. Good to know: you can park your car at the Tõrva Gymnasium parking lot, and from there, it's a short walk to the lake. Come and enjoy the summer and water fun in Southern Estonia!

Vastseliina Castle Tavern

Vastseliina Castle is a place worth discovering in South Estonia — with 14th-century castle ruins, a sacred site, interactive activities, and interesting history. Vastseliina Castle Tavern is located in the former stable room of the historic Piiri Tavern, and the castle kitchen prepares medieval dishes inspired by historical recipes and festive table customs. The tavern is open daily during the summer months. In the autumn-winter season, guests can enjoy a rich medieval-inspired feast or more modest festive dishes by pre-order. All offered meals are prepared on-site in the castle kitchen, and the kitchen staff prefers to use as much local seasonal produce as possible. The tavern can also set up a welcome and coffee table if needed. Feasts are welcome for groups consisting of at least 20 and no more than 60 guests. In addition to the feast, you can order a castle tour or a suitable workshop. The castle staff requests that you inform them of your intention to visit at least five working days in advance.

Monument to Alfred Neuland

Weightlifter Alfred Neuland (1895-1966) who was born in Valga is the first Estonian Olympic Champion. He returned with a gold medal from the Antwerp Olympic Games in 1920. He was also successful at the Paris Olympic Games where he won the silver medal.Interesting facts: * sculptor Mati Karmin is the author of the bronze bust; * Hermann Lerchenbaum, the first Estonian known to have taken part in Olympic Games as a member of the US Navy's rowing team at the 1896 Olympic Games in Athens, was also born in Valga.
