The main exposition of the Lake Museum is live Estonian freshwater fish. Our freshwater fish are not exhibited elsewhere in Estonia in such species quantity.About half of Estonia's freshwater fish live here, including more exotic species, as well as turtles, lake balls, and crayfish.You can visit 2 floor aquariums and 2 large cylindrical aquariums. There are more than 25 different aquariums in total. There is also a collection of fishing gear, an exhibition of primitive fish, and much more!You can book a sauna raft for a pleasure cruise or a sauna session and use a seminar room with a million-dollar view. During summers, a café is open.
Peipsi Kalapunkt – ancient fish recipes in a historical location! If you appreciate fresh and delicious fish, then Peipsi Kalapunkt is the place to come. Here, in Kallaste, delicious fish awaits, and it will make your taste buds jump with joy. We mainly offer smoked fish: vendace, bream, rudd, and other lake delicacies. If you want to be sure that the fish you like is available, we recommend calling in advance. Kalapunkt’s outdoor café is also open in warm weather, where you can quickly enjoy delicious fish burgers, wraps, and other snacks.
You will find the rustic holiday home of Metsatu Valge Elevant with its natural charm only 2 km from Otepää. The holiday home is great for couples (the rooms have double beds) or for a couple of families.The bedrooms are located on two floors. The kitchenette has everything you need and there is a cosy fireplace next to the kitchen. A wood-heated sauna and a spa room add to the pleasure of staying here.A private beach, swimming in the lake, and fish therapy for feet make your holiday even more enjoyable. The northern shore of Lake Kuremaa is home to the only beach in Jõgeva County manned by lifeguards. Here you will find a 250-metre stretch of golden sand, aquabikes and boat hire, a beachfront cafe, a playground, areas for ball games, a caravan park and more. You can also camp here. The swimming area is marked by buoys. The water temperature is measured constantly, with information provided on special stands.
Sänna Culture Manor bases its activities on the principle of openness, creation and preservation of an environment that is conducive to cultural and creative activity and the principles of temperance, the strict prohibition of alcoholic beverages. We offer tours, seminar room rental, woodworking workshops and Velokuur bicycle rental and repair. Advance booking is recommended for the workshops and guided tours. Curious people who are eager to learn are welcome. Our service centre features a library, shop, youth room, office space, shower and washroom.Good to know: The Manor also has the Sänna Sky Trail - a model of the solar system on a scale of 1:1 billion km.
The former Mattiesen Print House on the corner of Ülikooli and Vallikraavi Streets is also a noteworthy architectural monument in the centre of Tartu. Printer Carl Gottlieb Mattiesen bought the plot in 1848 and the print shop of the University of Tartu was moved into the wooden house. A stone annex was added to the building later.The building was redesigned in 1997 (architect M Raid) into a café-museum, bookstore and pub. Wilde Pub and Café operated in the building for a long time. A group of bronze sculptures depicting Oscar Wilde and Eduard Vilde was opened in front of the building in 1999 (authors M Karmin and T Trummal).
As the name suggests, it is a museum that introduces means of communication and laptops. The Communication and Laptop Museum opened its doors on June 10, 2023. In the communications museum section, there is a switchboard with cords, a telephone exchange from 1969; main distribution frame; telephone sets; payphones + payphone booths; overhead lines; mail baskets; communication instruments. Large Elion-Microlink-EMT-Telia signs and logos that used to be on the buildings. Also over several hundred mobile phones, among them old NMT mobile devices, antennas, and a 13 m cell phone mast. In terms of computers, there are a few desktop computers and twenty laptops.You can make calls inside the museum with a dial phone.
