There is an 18-hole discgolf park near the Kubija Lake in Võru. It is mainly meant for beginners. The tracks are marked with maps and there are directions to the next track at the bottom of the baskets. Players must bring their own discs. The first track begins in front of Kubija Song Festival Grounds.
This two-day (24h) adventure takes place on the Emajõgi River and in Peipsiveere Nature Reserve. The mode of transport are motorised and safe pontoon catamarans. By self-piloting (with the help of an adult), you chart your own course through the waterways, stopping at the Emajõe-Suursoo Nature Centre along the way. You then make your way to the fifth biggest body of inland water in Europe – Lake Peipus – before reaching your stop for the night at the raft house, where you will find a warm bed, dinner, canoes, and a sauna.The rafting trips require groups of at least 20 pupils and two adults.
Lake Kubija is in the Kubija district on the outskirts of Võru. There are changing rooms, bathrooms, a boat landing and a diving tower on the beach. A life guard also works on the beach in summer.Kubija Hotel and Nature Spa and Kubija campsite are nearby, and in summer there are moped lanes. The surrounding pine forests provide ski tracks in winter.The lake covers more than 15 hectares but is never more than 5 metres deep. There is good fishing here, with common catches including bream, perch and pike, and occasionally also pike perch and bleak.
Uppsala House is a typical 18th century citizen’s home – a one-storey building with a mansard roof. In 1993, the cities of Uppsala and Tartu entered into a cooperation project 'Restoration of Old Buildings'. This led to the restoration of Uppsala House, which currently belongs to Tartu City Government.Did you know...? The families of a secretary of the highest Livonian court, a saddle maker, tailors and representatives of many other interesting professions have lived in the building at different times. There were rental flats for students in the building in the beginning of the 19th century.Only the exterior of the Uppsala House can be enjoyed by the visitors!The building is listed in the Estonian National Register of Cultural Monuments.
Tehvandi Hotel (known to the locals as the Pentagon) forms part of Tehvandi Sports Centre. It is unique in Estonia for its horse shoe shape and grass roof.The hotel has a total of 45 rooms with all of the mod cons, sleeping 84 people. "Augupill" is a handmade camping boat from the Soviet times. The spacious, stable, and easy-to-steer 6-metre boat is powered by a modern, economical engine controlled by the steering wheel. No driver's license is needed to steer the boat. A 1.6x2m bed surrounded by a mosquito net can be made from mattresses on the smooth floor of the heatable cabin. Due to the smooth floor, the boat can also accommodate a wheelchair. The large cabin and high sides keep children in the boat, and the low height from the water line makes fishing comfortable. Specifically installed lights add comfort to catching fish at night. Along with the boat you will receive tips for fishing in the best fishing "holes" and all equipment if necessary.
