This building has hosted grand receptions of the nobility and served as a gathering point for student bodies. It was designed in 1876 by architect Otto Mohr for the Nolken family to turn an ordinary home into a residence resembling an Italian palazzo. A cafe opened on its second floor on 5 November 1957 and remained open until 1983.New life was breathed into the cafe in early 2005. With its six rooms, cosy corners, friendly staff and great music, it's a fantastic place for everyone!
Tartu St. Peter's Church is one of the most beautiful neo-Gothic Lutheran sanctuaries in Southern Estonia, established in the late 19th century as a spiritual home for the growing Estonian-speaking community. Designed by architect Viktor Schröter, the church is distinguished by its 56.5-meter-high tower and impressive brick facade, which reshaped the entire Ülejõe district's appearance. The church hall is bright and spacious, featuring a remarkable three-story interior. Wooden balconies and neo-Gothic arches add warmth and a dignified rhythm to the space, creating the impression of a true city cathedral. Visitors can admire Johann Köler's altarpiece "Inviting Christ" (1897) and listen to the late-19th-century 22-register organ, making Peetri Church one of Tartu's most esteemed concert venues due to its excellent acoustics. The church was established near the site of Estonia's first national song festival and has been an important part of Estonian cultural and congregational history since its cornerstone was laid in 1882.

Want to spend some lovely time with your friends while doing something practical?Nahastuudio studio offers workshops where participants will get to make a unique and colourful leather bracelet under the guidance of the leather designer Tiina Andron. Kagu hostel is a bargain accommodation suitable for a thrifty traveller and sits on the outskirts a few kilometres from the city centre and Lake Tamula. The hostel has light-filled rooms, with a stove, microwave, fridge and kettle in the public kitchen corner. We have free parking for hostel visitors. also has free Internet (WiFi) throughout the hostel. Good to know: the City of Võru stadium and sports centre remain near the Kagu hostel.
The canoe raft consists of three interconnected canoes, to which a platform for comfort has been added. One canoe raft comfortably accommodates 6–11 people, four or six of whom will have to paddle. In total, we have four canoe rafts. You can have a picnic, take photos, catch fish, sunbathe, etc. on the canoe raft. Small children, grandparents, and even smaller pets are also welcome on the canoe raft trip.About 20 sandstone outcrops are exposed on the Taevaskoja reservoir, which makes it one of the most unique and beautiful lakes in Estonia. Take a picnic basket and bring your friends to Taevaskoda!
