Preferably at 5 p.m. (or at other times as an exception), we taste 3 different fermented teas made following the traditional method. These include, in addition to vine leaves and currant leaves, the famous Ivan Chai, which was drunk by both the tsar’s family and the common people, as the tea is known for its excellent taste and healing properties.We will also talk about the local life and ancient times.Fermented teas, home wines, and other Alatskivi edible souvenirs can also be purchased.

Restaurant of Alatskivi castle

Alatskivi Manor combines three completely different cultures: the Scottish culture, represented in the architecture of the manor house; Estonia peasants, people living and working in the manor and on the manor's land; and the German nobility, representing aristocracy and old German habits. The restaurant offers its visitors a unique combination of three completely different cultures, expressed in the menu, as one would expect of a restaurant. The visitors can also find well-known, classic dishes from our menu.

Vaga Mama Põltsamaa

Vaga Mama is an Asian eatery located near historic Põltsamaa castle and serves Chinese, Thai, and Nepalese dishes. Our tasty and spicy dishes are made by Nepalese chefs. You can buy food to go or order by phone. Come and enjoy great food and company on our outdoor terrace or in our snug and warm café.

Visit to the Pühaste Brewery Taproom

The beginning of the story of Pühaste Brewery dates back to 2011 when Eero Mander first began making beer. The brewery in Tartu was opened in 2016.The visit to the Taproom includes beer tasting and a tour of the factory, during which you can hear and see how beer is made. The Taproom can be rented for corporate events, training sessions, and birthdays. To promote craft beer culture, a beer training course and a tour of the factory are also included in the booking.The exact cost of your visit depends on a number of factors – ask for more!

Additionally, the Cantervilla Castle complex includes a majestic stable hall which seats up to 200 guests. This is the best place for organising bigger events and receptions.

Blind dining at Vilde & Vine restaurant in Tartu

Imagine eating your favourite dish without seeing it on the plate. How will it taste like? Come and experience our blind dining to find out. The purpose of blind dining is to emphasise and activate the senses that are usually in the background. The dinner consists of seven or five courses prepared by our head chef and is complemented with delicious wines. The participants will have to guess what they are eating, guided solely by the taste and their intuition. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available. The dinner starts with refreshments and sparkling wine. The minimum size of the group is eight people. The dinner lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours.

Kolkja Fish and Onion Restaurant

At our small but authentic Kolkja Fish and Onion Restaurant, we offer genuine Old Believer dishes from the Peipsi region, prepared with freshly caught lake fish and locally grown, world-famous Peipsi onions. The dishes are based on traditional recipes passed down through generations, reflecting the unique culinary culture of the Peipsi lakeshore area. The menu features smoked fish, richly flavored fish soup, hearty onion soup, juicy fish patties, and a variety of desserts, including traditional Old Believer pies. The culinary experience is crowned with a traditional samovar tea, which is best enjoyed slowly in good company. The restaurant is located on the Onion Route (Sibulatee), and our cozy setting is perfect for families, friends, and travel groups alike. For groups, we offer the opportunity to arrange storytelling by the restaurant’s hostess about local life and Old Believer customs, as well as readings from old books, making the visit unique and memorable.

Haunted dinners at Alatskivi Castle

We offer an unforgettable experience with a haunted dinner at Alatskivi Castle. Travel back in time to 140 years ago when the Nolcken family lived in the manor, and there was no electricity or modern technology. During the evening, the lady of the manor will move through the dark rooms of the castle, telling stories of bygone times and ghostly legends, because the castle is truly haunted! The experience includes a guided tour of the castle and a 3-course period-themed dinner, accompanied by a welcome drink. It is possible to order additional drinks with the courses. The minimum number of people is 10. Come and enjoy the historical atmosphere, delicious food, and mystical stories!

Basic wine training at Vilde ja Vine

Wine trainings are ideal for celebrating important events or just having fun with your friends.The basic wine training course and tasting introduces five wines, two of which are white and three are red. Our wine sommelier introduces the main grape varieties (sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, merlot, shiraz, and cabernet sauvignon), talks about the history of wine, and how to pair wine with food. Snacks are also offered. After the training, you can enjoy our à la carte menu, which offers dishes for both meat lovers and vegetarians, as well as a variety of snacks and salads. You can also satisfy your sweet tooth with delicious desserts!
