Kissing Hill (Musumägi)

Lossi tn 15b, Tartu linn, Tartu maakond, 51003

Locals call the artificial hill on the Toome Hill, in the immediate vicinity of the Cathedral, the Kissing Hill. It was built in the 19th century as part of the park’s romantic design over the former Moscow Rondel at Karl XI Bastion. Today, stairs lead to the Kissing Hill and at the top, there is a viewing platform with benches. Next to the Kissing Hill, there is a monument to the poet Kristjan Jaak Peterson, between the sacrificial stone, the hill, and the cathedral. The place has been popular with young couples who take pictures there. There have been open-air performances on and around the Kissing Hill.

This romantic, historic railway station building, established in 1889, laid the foundation for Elva's birth and development. Thanks to the railway and the completion of the station building, Elva became a popular resort destination, attracting many holidaymakers. The station building in the heart of Elva is built in a classical style, and its beautiful facade is characteristic of 19th-century station buildings. Due to its architectural value, the building is under heritage protection. The old building, wooden details, and fascinating history create a pleasant backdrop for photography enthusiasts and those intrigued by architecture and history. While waiting for a train or bus, one can browse the lively library in the cozy waiting room, work remotely, or enjoy a hot drink. The station building also houses the café A la Ain, which offers flavors from around the world. In front of the building is a fountain restored in 2017 with community support. Cruffin at Aparaaditehas

Cruffin at Aparaaditehas is the place where it all began. It was our first bakery and remains the heart of the entire enterprise. Hidden in the creative quarter of Tartu's Aparaaditehas, Cruffin is a warm, bread-scented place where mornings start early, croissants rise slowly, and time passes at a slightly different speed. The counter always offers carefully prepared pastries: both classic buttery croissants and playful surprises, such as our famous cheesecake croissant. If you come at the right time, you might also grab warm sourdough bread straight from the oven. But Cruffin at Aparaaditehas is not only a favorite spot for bread fans. On weekends, a delicious brunch menu awaits, perfect for slow mornings with family or friends. Delightfully silky scrambled eggs, fluffy pancakes... and of course, at the heart of every dish is our homemade bread. Compared to our smaller location, Cruffin at Tartu's Town Hall Square, there is more space here, a calmer atmosphere, and the opportunity to truly relax. It's like a home café that keeps drawing people back.
