Canoe and kayak trips on River Mädajõgi

Setomaa vald, Võru maakond, 64319

River Mädajõgi (Rotten River) flows through bogs and flood plain forests. The shores are soft or, as the locals call them, rotten. This is how the river got its name. River Mädajõgi marks the border between Estonia and Setomaa. The river is meandering, calm, and there are no fallen trees in the water. Therefore, the river is perfect for beginners. However, it is also exciting for more experienced guests. During the hike, we will see waterfowl and, if we move quietly enough, beavers, elk, and wild boars. The hike is carried out by Matkajuht OÜ. We will send detailed information with instructions to the participants who have registered to the hike.
