The magnificent Neo-Renaissance style manor with a white main building was built during the time of G. J. Mannteuffel in 1860. In 1918, Julius Kuperjanov established a partisan battalion in Puurmani castle.At present, the castle houses the Puurmani Upper Secondary School.You can visit Puurmani castle and learn about its history in the course of the Forgotten Manors program during the visiting days in the summer. The earliest records of the Palupera Knight Manor date back to 1582. In the sixteenth and seventeenth century, the manor belonged to the von Dückers, Bronskies, and von Fersens. The museum introduces the life led by farmers in the 18th century and the everyday lives and work of our forefathers. There are five oak sculptures created by St Petersburg artist Grigori Azarenkov by the museum. The museum is surrounded by beautiful landscapes, which make it a popular venue for folk parties and theatre performances.

St. Mary’s Church in Tartu was built in 1842 to be the home church of the city of Tartu and the Estonians in the parish. Prominent parish members included, for example, M. Härma, L. Koidula, and J. V. Jannsen. In 1869, the first Estonian song festival was initiated in St. Mary's Church in Tartu, which is why the church is also called the cradle of the song festival.The church was destroyed on July 12, 1941 and was reconstructed as a gym for the Estonian Academy of Agriculture. The church remained as a sanctuary for sports in Tartu for almost 50 years.The church was returned to the parish again in 2009 and is presently being restored. In 2022 the restoration works of the tower, which had been demolished while turning the church into a gym, were finished. A golden rooster stands guard on the tower.

The new monument to Villem Reiman (1861-1917) was opened in 2004 and its author is Mati Varik.Villem Reiman was a pastor and a cultural persona who fought for the independence of the Estonian people as a figurehead of the Estonian national movement.
