There is a unique children’s museum on the first floor of the Varbuse post station of the Road Museum. Children have the whole floor to themselves for having fun. Here, you will find exciting reading, educational games and activities, a puppet theatre, and the Chamber of Secrets which introduces fairy tales.There is an animal called Ajaloom (Time Animal) living in the children’s museum who is excited to meet his new friends to explore together what time is. Arch Bridge (Kaarsild) is a pedestrian bridge between the city centre and the Ülejõe district. It was built in 1957–1959 to replace the former Kivisild bridge, on the foundations of its abutments. Before the bridge was completed, a long rowing boat was used to regularly transport people over the river in the 1950s.The bridge was renovated in 2017. In the dark, the bridge is illuminated and additionally, musical works, accompanied by a light show, can be seen that are synchronised with the bell ringing of the town hall. The sound and light design is a unique public space project of its kind in Estonia.Next to the bridge, there is also a model of the Kivisild bridge that was destroyed in World War II.

The first written record about Kirumpää Castle is from 1322, when Gediminas, Grand Duke of Lithuania, destroyed it. The castle was built by the once important Tartu-Pihkva trade and war route, to protect the eastern border of the Tartu Bishopric. The castle has been attacked, destroyed and rebuilt many times and it was finally destroyed in the Russo-Swedish war in 1656.Useful information: Kirumpää Castle was surrounded by a large settlement of merchants and craftsmen. The layouts of the castle and the surrounding area are preserved in the Swedish National Archives. Stones from the castle's ruins were used to build Võru, which was established in 1784. Small-leaved lindens that grow around the ruins are from 1940.

Jaani Church, located right in the heart of the city, was built in 1816 according to the design of architect Christoph Haberland and it is the only church in Estonia with an oval ground plan. The unique organ has been preserved in its original shape and it is the only instrument built by Friedrich Ladegast still left in Estonia.Interesting facts: * the organ is one of the 200 best organs in Europe; * music can be heard from the church’s bell tower at midday and midnight.

The water tower of Raadi Manor dates back to the 19th century. In ancient times, the tower housed the manor clock, which let the manor workers know it was time for lunch. After World War II, the building was used by the Soviet army and was restored in 2002.Inside the water tower is an exhibition of the Estonian National Museum. Visiting the photo exhibition Raadi Through the Ages, which runs along the floors of the water tower, offers not only historical knowledge but also enchanting views of the cosy Raadi Manor Park.The exhibition is open by reservation and a visit to the water tower can be ordered together with the guided tour of the Estonian National Museum 'Raadi Manor Park Tour'.

This historicist-style church is built from red and yellow bricks and has five domes and a bell tower. It is one of the four representative churches of the Apostolic Orthodox Church in Estonia. The church is named after the priest martyr Isidore of Tartu. The church was built in 1897–1898 and was consecrated in 1898. The architect of the building is Vladimir Lunski.The church was built in 1896 for the congregation of Orthodox Russians and Latvians.
