The sculpture was created by Mati Karmin and unveiled in front of the Tartu Market on 17 January 2008.The steel barrel rests on a granite base and the numbers and letters cut into the base inform the viewer that the date when the sculpture was opened, 17 January, is St Anthony’s Day when old Estonians used to turn their attention to the pig.

The National Piano Museum is located in a special building - the historic Holdre Manor.The Art Nouveau-style main building, with its Heimat-style influences, was erected around 1910 during the time of Woldemar von Ditmar. Previously, the manor centre had not been built in a representative style. The architect of the building was Otto Wildau, who also designed the nearby Taagepera and Karksi manor buildings. The aim of the National Piano Museum is to collect as complete a collection of Estonian pianos as possible.By prior arrangement, we offer a musical guided tour with Alo Põldmäe, a composer, singer and music educator who is in charge of the Piano Museum.

Veski Pub in Antsla is a great place to have a meal in north-western Võru County. The cosy pub offers delicious dishes, and there is a different daily menu from Monday to Friday. You can buy our home-baked bread or make use of our courtyard to barbecue or for the kids to enjoy themselves in the playground. Catering is available for groups, and the pub can be hired as a venue for parties, family events and other occasions.

St Zachariah’s and St Elizabeth’s Orthodox Church in Räpina is a neo-Classical oblong building consisting of three parts. In the Western part there is a bell tower and in the Eastern part a crescent-shaped apsis. A cupola with a tambour is in the middle of the building. The exterior of the building is in classical style, incorporating cornices and rustic work. Simple iconostasis of the 19th century catches the eye in the interior.

The Holiday House of Vällamäe Farm is a comfortable and quiet place to spend family holiday in beautiful natural environment. There is a log house in the Farm with a beautiful view of the shore of a lake and a 3.5 km long hiking trail in primeval Vällamäe forest located in the immediate vicinity.

The art of papermaking began 2,000 years ago in China. In our craft paper workshop, you can learn how to make paper from recycled materials, as was done centuries ago. You can put flowers or other design elements inside the paper, and give the finished paper a lacy pattern under the press or make it mirror-smooth between the metal plates.In the workshop, we will give an overview of different techniques and possibilities. Each participant can make three sheets of craft paper (A5 format).

In the Local Heritage Cafe of Juulamõis, we offer workshops for groups who want to immerse themselves in the secrets of the plant world. Together, we make mustards and herbal salts, perform herbal tea rituals, and discover the power of nature.In the workshop, we will learn about edible plants depending on the seasons, discuss their beneficial effects on health, share tips and recipes, and set a snack table for the whole group. Estonian nature is rich in plants full of power: it is important to notice them, know how to use them with gratitude, eat them, and offer them to our friends!

Anne Canal is located in the city of Tartu, where you can enjoy summer beach fun. The beach has a golden sandy beach that awaits sunbathers and sandcastle builders. There is also a playground with swings, climbing ladders, and a slide. There are fitness trails, an outdoor gym, and a volleyball court along the Canal. There are changing cabins and toilets on the beach. During the swimming season, the beach café Lennuk is open, where you can buy refreshing drinks and street food. In winter, you can go winter swimming in Anne Canal and go ice skating with your own skates. Good to know: During the summer months, the beach is patrolled by lifeguards.
