Tõrva Central Square

At Tõrva Central Square, the priority is given to pedestrian comfort and leisure facilities. Spread over almost 13,000 square meters, Tõrva Central Square has most of the space on the footpaths and activity grounds.Landscaping was carried out on 5,000 square metres and almost 2,000 trees and shrubs were planted. The central square of Tõrva runs from the historic tavern building to the Tõrva Town Hall building and from there on to Lake Veskijärv.Architects Mari Rass, Ott Alver, Alvin Järving, and Illimar Klammer.

Home restaurant Maagõkõnõ at Toomemäe farm

Sirje Kruusamäe with her family welcomes you at the Toomemäe Farm in the village of Saabolda. The home restaurant Maagõkõnõ (poppy in Estonian) is the result of Sirje’s long-standing dream. When the family bought the farm, it was surrounded by a poppy field. Now, they are used to decorate the walls of the home cafe.The restaurant serves gourmet local good. Our most popular dishes are pike cutlets, warm cottage cheese, and home-made ice cream, but also delicious pies. The hostess Sirje is a multi-time pie champion of the Seto Kingdom Day!The restaurant is also perfect for cooking workshops, birthdays, and other events.

Mooska Adventure Trips

Mooska Adventure Trips offer a great opportunity to learn about Võru County's smoke sauna traditions and heritages. From smoking meat in the sauna during winter-time, to the smoking hole lined with stones method used in the summer. A hiking trip to Vällamägi in also available. According to the folk belief, Vällamägi is an especially sacred site and it fumes because it has an underground connection with the Baltic Sea. A. Le Coq Beer Museum

The A. Le Coq Beer Museum lets you see, hear, and taste the story of beer. You'll learn brewing history from ancient Egypt to the present day. The museum displays the ingredients needed to brew beer, describes the brewing process, and exhibits old production facilities. The heart of the museum is the historic malt tower, where the exciting 200-year history of A. Le Coq unfolds. At the end of the visit, you can enjoy a cold beer or lemonade at the museum's bar and peruse the gift shop. You can visit the museum on your own or with a guide.

Vikerkaare Villa

Vikerkaare Villa offers a historic holiday for a guest enjoying peace and cosiness. The villa is located a 15-minute walk from the centre of Tartu, in the green and quiet Tähtvere district. The three-storey Villa has ten rooms (4 single, 4 double, and 2 twin), a large garden, and a sauna. Six rooms are more luxuriously furnished for more demanding guests. It is possible to book a room with breakfast, which is served in the Villa's dining room.

Adavere ice skating rink is open to all skaters next to the manor school in the town of the same name, around 120 km from Tallinn on the Tallinn-Tartu Highway. You can see it from the road.

Rafting for pupils on Emajõgi River

This two-day (24h) adventure takes place on the Emajõgi River and in Peipsiveere Nature Reserve. The mode of transport are motorised and safe pontoon catamarans. By self-piloting (with the help of an adult), you chart your own course through the waterways, stopping at the Emajõe-Suursoo Nature Centre along the way. You then make your way to the fifth biggest body of inland water in Europe – Lake Peipus – before reaching your stop for the night at the raft house, where you will find a warm bed, dinner, canoes, and a sauna.The rafting trips require groups of at least 20 pupils and two adults.

Rõuge hill fort and prehistoric settlement

The cultural layer of Rõuge settlement hid several ruins of residential buildings and a number of findings of household items. Subsequent to the settlement is a fortress that is situated on the western part of the natural small cape and where the residential buildings were located, but today, only the end ramparts of the fortress with ditches in front of them can be seen. During Middle Iron Age, people mainly subsisted on slash-and-burn clearance, cattle-breeding was less developed. Some examples of tools of local craftsmen were found among the finds from Rõuge; the finds can be seen in Võrumaa Regional Museum.In 1613, Rõuge is mentioned as a parish for the first time. The modern-day small town came into being in the 19th century.
