The production of Rüüp wine is located in the village of Ihamaru, Ala Juusa farm in Põlva. We make craft wines mainly from our grown berries and apples. We started growing wines in 2022. We kindly show our activities to visitors: let's talk about how vines grow in Estonia and how grapes become wine, tasting different drinks, introducing a production space that we affectionately call a sip kitchen among ourselves. We also offer accommodation in a holiday home with a sauna and hot tub.
At our small but authentic Kolkja Fish and Onion Restaurant, we offer genuine Old Believer dishes from the Peipsi region, prepared with freshly caught lake fish and locally grown, world-famous Peipsi onions. The dishes are based on traditional recipes passed down through generations, reflecting the unique culinary culture of the Peipsi lakeshore area. The menu features smoked fish, richly flavored fish soup, hearty onion soup, juicy fish patties, and a variety of desserts, including traditional Old Believer pies. The culinary experience is crowned with a traditional samovar tea, which is best enjoyed slowly in good company. The restaurant is located on the Onion Route (Sibulatee), and our cozy setting is perfect for families, friends, and travel groups alike. For groups, we offer the opportunity to arrange storytelling by the restaurant’s hostess about local life and Old Believer customs, as well as readings from old books, making the visit unique and memorable.
The KODAS modern production, distance working and visitor centre is located at Valgjärve, between the picturesque hills of Otepää Upland. We use the fruits of 9000 apple trees in our apple garden to produce internationally renowned hand crafted ciders, sparkling wines, and non-alcoholic drinks.At our place you can see with your own eyes the journey of an apple picked from a tree to the bottle.During the 1.5-hour factory tour you will visit the production facility, learn about the exciting world of drinks and then you can taste what has been bottled as well.Restaurant KODAS offers exciting flavour experiences and during summer we host open air concerts with well known performers.
At the Ice Age Center, you'll find a family-friendly café with enchanting views of Lake Saadjärv through the windows! The café offers buffets and menus for adults and a children's menu for the little ones. The selection also includes vegetarian and vegan food. The café is perfect for both spending time at the Ice Age Center and daily lunch specials for locals and visitors. If you wish, you can also book catering for groups and rent rooms for different events, such as a seminar, birthday, or other celebration. A cozy atmosphere, delicious food, and a wonderful view of Lake Saadjärv create a special experience any time of year.
The à la carte restaurant of Pesa Hotel is perfect for relaxing and having a business lunch. The 55-seat hall is perfect for corporate events and birthdays. Groups can also choose a more private room (up to 20 people). In summer, the sun terrace is open. You can also order snacks to the mini spa Sõstar of Pesa hotel.We prefer to use local Vana-Võromaa raw ingredients in our dishes. Alatskivi Mõisa Tall is located in the heart of the Onion Route in Alatskivi, in the quarrystone building of the former manor. More than a century ago, the building was used as a stable. Mõisa Tall is our local pub, but it is an awesome pub! We serve food and German beer and traditional cider. On weekdays, we also have daily specials. We have something for everyone in our food and drink menus!
At Seto Tsäimaja, you can eat Seto food from handmade earthenware and listen to Seto songs and musical instruments. You can also practice Seto by reading from the menu. The restaurant is next to the Värska Farm Museum — combine your dining experience with a visit to the museum and explore the local craft and souvenir shop. On the second floor of the building, there is a classroom suitable for organizing seminars and meetings or seating for smaller groups. Prior arrangements should be made for catering for groups, party catering, meeting room use, events in cooperation with Setomaa Museums, etc.
Tillu Cafe is situated on the premises of a romantic farm shop on the outskirts of Põlva. It offers freshly baked pastries, buns and cakes, light meals, exciting salads and soups and a main of the day. The cafe is perfect for families with children, those looking for a hot lunch, people who love coffee and cake and for small groups. Catering services can also be ordered, either as food only or full service.
