Valga Museum

The museum features the home of Friedrich Reinhold Kreutzwald (1803-1882), a physician and the founder of Estonian national literature, in Võru and gives a good overview of his activities. His living quarters reflect the interior design typical of the time; the garden house accommodates literary exposition. In the storehouse there is an exhibition of art inspired by Kreutzwald’s writings, reprints and translations of his works. The stable features different vehicles and the fairy-tale room several ethnographic objects. There are also a cellar, sauna, well, garden and an arbour in the museum complex. The activity room is designed for handicraft, drawing and constructing.

Meenikunno Bog is one of the most beautiful bogs in South Estonia. It has a diverse fauna and birdlife, picturesque open lakes and numerous bog islands! Guided bogshoe hikes offer a wealth of new and exciting knowledge about the formation of bogs, their unique nature, flora, and fauna. The hike includes the service of a guide, snowshoes, walking sticks, and hot tea in cold weather. At the end of the hike, you can order a luxurious forest restaurant meal or a simple, refreshing picnic lunch. Welcome to Metsa Farm – a place where nature and blueberry wine create a special taste experience! We invite you to visit Rooswald Red Winery, where rustic blueberry wines are crafted using our farm's own cultivated blueberries. During the tasting, you can sample wines made at the winery and hear the story of how a lucky coincidence in 2016 sparked a passion for winemaking and eventually led to the establishment of Rooswald Red winery. Every year, we experiment with new recipes and improve existing ones, making each wine unique and unparalleled. The quantities are small and available only at the farm. Metsa Farm is home to one of Estonia's oldest cultivated blueberry plantations. During the visit, we will walk through the plantation, talk about blueberry cultivation, and the birth story of Estonia's first cultivated blueberry variety 'Are', which is named after the first name of the owner of Metsa Farm. Unique Rooswald Red blueberry wines from dry to semi-sweet and blueberry seedlings can be purchased at the farm. We look forward to your visit!

Come on an overnight canoe trip around Emajõe-Suursoo, which is known for its rich biodiversity. Traveling by canoe along the rivers and lakes of the bog offers a unique natural experience in places that can only be discovered by water. We start the canoe trip in the silence of the early morning, and it ends the next day at lunchtime. You will get to experience what it's like to sleep in a hanging bed (rental available from the organizer) amidst the sounds of nature at night. The trip includes equipment, tour guide service, trip organization, and meals. The trip is suitable for children aged 13 and above.

In this workshop, you will make a simple notebook with recycled cardboard covers, printed and bound by yourself. We will provide you with all the materials you need to make the notebook. During the workshop, you will get a brief insight into the world of letterpress printing and bookbinding. You can print a picture of your choice on the front cover with linocut or metal blocks using a nearly 170-year-old printing press. We will hand-stitch the blank pages between the printed covers. You will end up with a simple but useful notebook that you can take home with you!

A hike about a kilometre long with a guide and lanterns on the territory of Kalevipoeg's Home. We will visit the local history exhibition in ancient buildings and the playground, pass through a pine forest and the adventure park. We will drink tea that has been boiled on a campfire.Suitable for groups of different ages - kindergarten children, school groups, groups of coworkers, families, friend groups, etc. Catering can also be arranged and rooms can be rented in the community centre or museum. The lantern tour can be a part of your visit or a special occasion for a visit.Addditionally, you can visit the Kalevipoeg Museum and go sledding, ice skating and tubing in winter when there's snow.

A kicksledding trip through Taevaskoja in South Estonia will take you to a true winter wonderland! The trip runs along the ancient valley of the Ahja River, past the Taevaskoja sandstone outcrops, through enchanting snowy forests, and past the beautiful, crisp Ahja River. The tour guide will tell exciting stories about nature and Taevaskoda and offer hot tea to warm you up.
