The Kooraste cycling trail runs along gravel roads in beautiful pine forests. There are several beautiful lakes and rivers along the trail. The trail is equipped with signs, but a map is required to complete the trail, which can be obtained from the Kiidjärve Visitor Centre or printed from here. The start and end of the trail is at RMK Erastvere office.You can make a fire at the Kooraste Suurjärv, Kooraste Kõverjärv, and Vähkjärv campfire sites on the trail.

Rafting for pupils on Emajõgi River

This two-day (24h) adventure takes place on the Emajõgi River and in Peipsiveere Nature Reserve. The mode of transport are motorised and safe pontoon catamarans. By self-piloting (with the help of an adult), you chart your own course through the waterways, stopping at the Emajõe-Suursoo Nature Centre along the way. You then make your way to the fifth biggest body of inland water in Europe – Lake Peipus – before reaching your stop for the night at the raft house, where you will find a warm bed, dinner, canoes, and a sauna.The rafting trips require groups of at least 20 pupils and two adults.

Road Museum Machinery Hall ‘Controlling machines’ (Masinate valitsemine)

In July 2019, the exciting permanent exhibition called 'Controlling machines' (Masinate valitsemine) was opened in the new Machinery Hall of the Road Museum. The idea behind the exhibition is the contradictory power relationship between cars and their drivers. The exposition consists of three sub-expositions: car culture, traffic education, and road machine display. Pikasilla recreation area

Pikasilla recreation area, located in Põdrala rural municipality by the southern tip of Lake Võrtsjärv, is easily accessible and has a strategically good location by a waterway (at the mouth of the River Emajõgi). The place has become well-known as a venue of sports competitions and various public events. The area has different sports facilities, a children's playground, cabins and a campfire site; it also has washing and cooking facilities.The services of the recreation area include:- renting the recreation area- renting canoes, kayaks and boats- boat harbour and mooring spots- renting a stadium building and a building with washing and cooking facilities- caravan parking- camping ground for about 100 people- cabins for rent

Tartu Angel Bridge

Angel Bridge is one of Tartu's symbols and a popular place among both locals and tourists. It offers a beautiful view of Toomemäe Park. Angel Bridge, designed by Johann Wilhelm Krause, was completed in 1838. On the bridge is a bas-relief of the first rector of the University of Tartu, Georg Friedrich Parrot, with the inscription "Otium reficit vires" or "Rest restores strength." There are several legends surrounding the bridge. For example, it is believed that if you take a deep breath before stepping on the bridge, run across the bridge, and make a wish, your wish will come true. Angel Bridge is also a great place to take romantic pictures!

Standard and electric fatbike rentals in South Estonia

Explore South Estonia's nature by bike, and find joy and peace at Taevaskoja. Near Taevaskoja village lies the Ahja River Valley Landscape Protection Area with its enchanting sandstone outcrops. The most famous of these are the Great and Small Taevaskoda. You can explore this special landscape by riding a standard or electric fatbike. You can rent an electric or regular, pedal-powered fatbike, helmet, riding instructions, and a mobile trail map from us. With the map, you can find the most magical landscape views and cultural sites in the area. Our bikes are suitable for everyone over 150 cm tall. Previous experience is not required; anyone interested can handle the ride well. We have a total of 35 bikes. If you wish to ride further, we rent bike racks for attaching to a car tow hook or a roof rack to transport the bikes. You can also come to our rental point by bus or train; the stop closest to us is called Kiidjärve.

Soontaga hiking trail

The Soontaga hiking trail is located at Kiidjärve-Kooraste recreation area. The hiking trail runs along the typical Southern Estonian mixed forests and arrives at the Väike-Emajõgi river. The hiking trail, which can be completed on foot, runs in a circle.There are several information boards at the hiking trail, which describe the nature of the area. The beautiful bodies of water at the hiking trail are equipped with bridges. In addition to the hiking trail there is the Soontaga campsite with campfire places at the recreation area.If you visit the hiking trail during the season, you might find forest berries or mushrooms on our journey.

Tartu Bike Marathon track

Every autumn, the Tartu Bike Marathon brings thousands of sports enthusiasts to Southern Estonia, but completing the marathon distance requires practice. The 86 km long track of the Tartu Bike Marathon starts from the stadium of the Tehvandi Sports Center in Otepää and ends in Elva at the Tartumaa Health Sports Center. The track is technically undemanding and largely follows the famous Tartu Marathon route. Signage with kilometer markings is available for movement in both directions. The Tartu Rattamaraton track is designed for both hiking and athletic training. The track primarily runs on forest roads and smaller gravel roads and is suitable for a range of bicycles. The diverse landscape of the Otepää Nature Park and countless lakes offer not only physical exertion but also visual beauty and mental refreshment, and why not take a stretching break at the Harimäe observation tower? Southern Estonia, full of opportunities for active recreation, invites you to explore its landscapes by bike!
