The Medieval Theme Park and Pilgrim House at Vastseliina Episcopal Castle is a unique destination in South Estonia, offering visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the medieval world. This place combines the ruins of a 14th-century castle, a sanctuary, interactive exhibitions, and activities suitable for history buffs, families, and pilgrims alike. At our interactive museum, you can explore the medieval-themed exhibition, learn about the castle's history, discover knights' equipment and Hanseatic merchants' wares, visit an alchemist's corner, and participate in various workshops. There is a children's room and the Castle Tavern, open in summer, which serves dishes inspired by the Middle Ages.

Guesthouse Vehendi Motel awaits you on the wonderful shores of Lake Võrtsjärv. The motel is great for a family holiday or spending time with friends, thanks to its idyllic view of Lake Võrtsjärv. In addition to accommodation, we offer the opportunity to hold summer parties, weddings, and birthdays. Our outdoor terrace can accommodate up to 150 guests in the summer, making it ideal for large events. In the winter, we have a party hall accommodating 60 guests. Vehendi Motel has a sauna complex where you can enjoy the pleasures of a hot tub and a barrel sauna. We offer hikes around Lake Mustjärv or Lake Võrtsjärv as an additional service. Erastvere is one of the oldest settlements near Põlva. There is an old manor park with the tallest lime-tree in Estonia, with the height of 35 m. A chapel of the noble German family von Ungern-Sternberg which is built on the foundation of the former Church of Mary and called after the last family member born in Estonia – Gerhard – is located in the middle of the park. The park also includes the fascinating Lake Erastvere which offers good opportunities to bathe, camp and spend a good time. The Ahja River starts from the north-eastern part of Lake Erastvere.

Explore South Estonia's nature by bike, and find joy and peace at Taevaskoja. Near Taevaskoja village lies the Ahja River Valley Landscape Protection Area with its enchanting sandstone outcrops. The most famous of these are the Great and Small Taevaskoda. You can explore this special landscape by riding a standard or electric fatbike. You can rent an electric or regular, pedal-powered fatbike, helmet, riding instructions, and a mobile trail map from us. With the map, you can find the most magical landscape views and cultural sites in the area. Our bikes are suitable for everyone over 150 cm tall. Previous experience is not required; anyone interested can handle the ride well. We have a total of 35 bikes. If you wish to ride further, we rent bike racks for attaching to a car tow hook or a roof rack to transport the bikes. You can also come to our rental point by bus or train; the stop closest to us is called Kiidjärve.

Varese Guesthouse is a convenient place to stay in north-western Võru County if you wish to continue your trip in the north or south, west or east direction, but you need good and simple place to stay overnight. In the Guesthouse sauna you can enjoy the evening and have a decent meal in the café.

Let's make delicious kama truffles together! Kama is often considered one of Estonia's national dishes. In the workshop, we roast kama flour, mix it with creamy filling and flavorful additions, and shape it into delightful balls. Then we decorate the kama truffles. Each participant can prepare 6 to 8 truffles to take home. A pleasant and flavorful experience for every participant! We recommend adding a guided tour or a walk in our yard at the Mulgi Experience Center. In the exhibition house, visitors are greeted with interactive solutions that introduce the culture and history of Mulgimaa in an engaging way. After the workshop, you can meet the center's friendly animals, visit the linen barn, and discover how linen fabric was made in the past. The Mulgi Experience Center opens the door to the essence of the Mulgi people and Mulgi cultural heritage. It is an ideal place to spend a pleasant time with friends or colleagues. Veski Pub in Antsla is a great place to have a meal in north-western Võru County. The cosy pub offers delicious dishes, and there is a different daily menu from Monday to Friday. You can buy our home-baked bread or make use of our courtyard to barbecue or for the kids to enjoy themselves in the playground. Catering is available for groups, and the pub can be hired as a venue for parties, family events and other occasions.
