Fairytale Alatskivi Castle awaits visitors in South Estonia, about 40 km from Tartu. In the castle, you travel back in time to the 19th century, get acquainted with the life of a noble family and the manor's daily routine, and meet the servants who worked here a hundred years ago, brought to life with wax figures in the basement. Castle guides share captivating stories, and visitors can create a personal souvenir in the ceramic workshop. Allocate at least 1.5 hours to explore the exhibition, which spans three floors. On the castle's third floor is the museum of composer Eduard Tubin, which presents the life and works of one of Estonia's most famous musicians. The former carriage-horse stable next to the castle offers insight into the manor's management and daily operations. Alatskivi Castle is part of the Onion Route, which can also be explored through the bright yellow National Geographic windows. Stroll in the castle park, enjoy nature on the Alatskivi hiking trail, stay in romantic castle suites, and taste local dishes at the castle restaurant.

Boat trips on Lake Peipsi take you to Estonia's largest lake aboard the historic cruise ship Arabella I. Built in 1922 and recently fully renovated, Arabella I is the oldest ship in use in Estonia. On board, you will find a cozy lounge, café area, modern amenities, and a peaceful atmosphere suitable for families, romantics, and culture enthusiasts. Cruises depart by arrangement from Tartu or the Emajõe-Suursoo Center, and the ship can also be booked for special events – from birthdays and seminars to photo sessions and festive receptions. If desired, a local guide, delicious snacks, or live music can be arranged on board. Arabella I offers an unforgettable experience on one of Estonia's most unique bodies of water – Lake Peipsi, where the traditions of Old Believer villages, rich natural heritage, and expansive horizons come together.

With scenic beauty and rich history, the Käre Battlefields offer pastime and a delight to the eye.Historically, the Käre farm has been a war zone, and the forest hides numerous bunkers, trenches and military artefacts. The place, at its most authentic, takes us back to the battlefields of 1944.The aim of the club, which is based at the Käre Battlefields, is to preserve and exhibit old equipment and antiuqes. The historical heritage is combined with modern leisure activities such as guided walks near trenches and bunkers or safaris in the countryside.

The National Piano Museum is located in a special building - the historic Holdre Manor.The Art Nouveau-style main building, with its Heimat-style influences, was erected around 1910 during the time of Woldemar von Ditmar. Previously, the manor centre had not been built in a representative style. The architect of the building was Otto Wildau, who also designed the nearby Taagepera and Karksi manor buildings. The aim of the National Piano Museum is to collect as complete a collection of Estonian pianos as possible.By prior arrangement, we offer a musical guided tour with Alo Põldmäe, a composer, singer and music educator who is in charge of the Piano Museum.

Emajõe-Suursoo is an interesting and vibrant water maze of several rivers and lakes. We will ride SUP or paddle boards through the watery labyrinth from Emajõe-Suursoo to Lake Peipsi, where we will cook a delicious dinner over a live fire, rest our feet, and spend the night on a wild beach in hanging beds. There is an opportunity to swim, and those who do not want to sleep in can enjoy the sunrise! The trip includes basic SUP training, equipment, two meals, hanging bed rental, and hiking guide service. At the Metsavenna Farm located on the Estonian-Latvian border, you have a unique opportunity to search for forest brothers in hiding places during a forest brother hike, stay in a bunker, and listen to true stories.The experience continues at the Metsavenna eatery, where simple yet authentic food from the era is served: boiled potatoes with skins, butter, salt, and juice. The visit concludes with a musical experience – singing the song of the former Härmiku forest brothers' orchestra. Visiting Metsavenna Farm is an engaging and educational journey into the history of forest brotherhood.

A hike that combines physical activity, fresh air, and a sense of history!Come alone, bring a friend or all of them, and enjoy a scooter hike in the magnificent atmosphere of Setomaa in the landscapes and villages near Lake Lämmijärv. We will ride along the old lake bed, through pine forests, pass ancient settlements and burial mounds, until we reach a traditional well-preserved Seto residence.The hike starts and ends at the parking lot of the Mäe Nature House of the State Forest Management Centre. The Pilgrim House introduces visitors to everything related to medieval pilgrims and pilgrimages. Here you can get acquainted with various medieval holy places and pilgrimage destinations. One of them, the most famous in Northern Europe, was located right here in the Holy Cross Chapel of the Vastseliina Bishopric! Thanks to the interactive exhibit, visitors can experience firsthand what a medieval pilgrim felt, what he feared, and what he loved. You can play medieval board games, and with prior arrangements, we offer various experience packages, including period and themed meals prepared in the Pilgrim House oven to fill your stomach!
