Jõeveere farm

Welcome to Jõeveere Farm!We are located in the beautiful Piusa primeval valley on the banks of the Piusa River, Võrumaa, just one and a half kilometers away from Estonia’s highest Devonian sandstone outcrops – the Härma walls. We offer accommodation in historic log cabins and Aida rooms, a smoke sauna, a concert hall, a campfire site, swings, and grilling facilities. Larger camps and camping are welcome – the grounds have accommodated over 1000 people at once.
Nature enthusiasts can explore the 15 km Piusa River primeval valley hiking trail, enjoying forests, meadows, and riverbanks, ending with the ruins of Vastseliina castle.
At the Jõeveere Farm museum, we exhibit local historical artifacts: tools, dishes, embroideries, and much more. A group of up to 15 people can fit at a time – pre-registration is required.
Our smoke sauna, over 100 years old, offers hot steam and relaxation – after the sauna, you can dive into the crisp river or pond. Come and experience authentic Võrumaa farm life!

Private sled dog training in Tartu County

Join the long-distance sled dog team training in Tartu County and experience something that not everyone can! Your role is simple but important – you sit on a special terrain cart as extra weight and enjoy an adrenaline-filled ride with a professional racing team. Meanwhile, we will unveil the behind-the-scenes of the sled dog world – discussing training methods, competitions, and the unique aspects of the dogs' work. You will be guided by Estonia's first musher to participate in long-distance races, Heinrich Lukk, whose experience extends to the challenging tracks of Norway and Finland. During the training, you will see a racing team of eight Alaskan huskies in action and practicing simpler practical tasks. The training lasts 2 to 3 hours, takes place from September to November, and is suitable for only one participant at a time, which makes the experience personal and special. Put on rubber boots or hiking shoes, choose weatherproof clothing, and come to Tartu County for an adventure that will be remembered for a lifetime!

Seto culture workshop “Putting on Seto clothes”

You are invited to Obinitsa Museum to dress up! The Seto culture workshop "Putting on Seto clothes" is about putting on Seto women's clothes. One member of the company or group will put on the garments. While dressing, the guide will tell you how a Seto woman and man should dress according to tradition, including how to distinguish a married woman from an unmarried girl. The historical context and significance of the objects in Seto culture will also be presented. Come and learn about Seto folk costumes and history!

Võru Institute – the home of Võro language

Võru Institute is the creative home of Võro language and culture: here, you can ask about the language and customs of Võro. There is an exhibition sale of books in the Võro language. The e-shop Umapuut of Old-Võromaa sells books in the Võro language, CDs with Võro songs, a wide selection of local crafts, and souvenirs with Võro symbols. If you wish, you can order a short course of the Võro language as well as lectures or presentations on the Võro language and cultural space at the institute.To learn about the cultural heritage of Old-Võromaa, first visit the local museums, which open the doors to the local culture. The museums have permanent exhibitions, theme days, and workshops.

The steam engine monument

The year 1886 when the plan to build the Pihkva-Riga railway with a branch from Valga to Tartu became a crucial year in the development of the little town.The steam engine monument erected near the Valga railway station in 1998 celebrates the 110th anniversary of the Pihkva-Valga-Riga rail connection. Engine SU 251-98 was built in the Sormovo Shipyard in 1949. Interesting facts: * the engine weighs 87 tons and its output is 12 tons of steam per hour; * Riga-Pihkva railway was officially opened on 22 July 1889 in Pihkva.

Kogo Gallery

Kogo Gallery is an internationally operating contemporary art gallery located in Tartu's Aparaaditehas. The gallery focuses on a younger generation of artists and supports their international visibility by introducing their work to a wider audience. Kogo's mission is to foster free creation, interdisciplinary thinking, imagination, and novel ideas, and to initiate and maintain creative relationships by bringing together creative individuals and art enthusiasts. The gallery's diverse exhibition program features both solo projects by artists and curator-created exhibitions. In addition to exhibitions, Kogo organizes a variety of public programs at the gallery. The gallery also involves experts from different fields in its activities to develop dialogue on important societal issues. Kogo Gallery offers visitors numerous art experiences, including exhibitions and art sales, art rental for special events, gallery tours for groups, gallery space rental for special events, and curating and advising art collectors.

Maitsemaa Forest Restaurant

Forest Restaurant – is the art of cooking and serving food in the wild.The interior changes every season and the experience comes from authentic food, which is partly cooked over open fire. No plastic plates, plastic tents or garden chairs. There is a campfire, wooden dinnerware, camping frying pans, and a sooty coffee pot.Celebrate your birthday in nature with your friends, sitting by the fire, enjoying good food and having a pleasant conversation. If you want, you can order Forest Restaurant to a place suitable for you. The service is available for groups from 10 people in Põlva County and from 15 people elsewhere in Estonia. A transport fee of 150€ is added to the price outside Põlva County.

Lüllemäe Ski Land

The Lüllemäe snowboard and ski hill is located in a naturally beautiful place, marked by the National Geographic yellow frame.The hillside is waiting for all those who enjoy winter. Visitors can use a snow tube track with a cable car.Downhill skiing training takes place on site under the guidance of instructors. Equipment can be rented on site. There are also Lüllemäe ski trails near the hill.Use of sports equipment and the ski lift can be paid for in cash on site.
