In Alatskivi, make sure you also visit Alatskivi Church (1636) in addition to the castle. The unique church on Kirikumägi Hill was built by manor owner Stackelberg in 1777–1782. It was later altered and its layout was given the shape of a cross. W. Nolcken’s painting "Last Supper" adorns the altar of the church. The organ was made by Müllerstaedt in 1868.Alatskivi Church has been recognised as a cultural monument. Church services take place at 12.30 p.m. on Sundays; during that time, you can also view the interior of the church.Interesting to know: the graves of important contributors to local culture at Alatskivi cemetery are under national protection.

Järvselja nature study trail introduces the forest surrounding the centre of forestry and research. The trail is diverse and passes through a number of forests. Here, you will see the King’s pine (Kuningamänd), which is over 380 years old, as well as spruces that are more than 40 meters high – making them one of the highest trees in Estonia.The trail runs partly on a boardwalk and the route is 1–5 km long. A good starting point is either the Järvselja Hunting Lodge or the guest house, where there are information boards with a map of the trails.Järvselja study trail and the primeval forest represent one of the best locations to discover in Southern Estonia, marked with the yellow frame of National Geographic.

The Rõuge primeval valley, which is 10km long and 52m deep, contains seven lakes: Kahrila Lake, Tõugjärv, Ratasjärv, Kaussjärv, Rõuge Suurjärv, Liinjärv, and Valgjärv. The lakes are connected by the Rõuge or Ajo River, which starts from the Tindi valley. The side valleys of the Rõuge primeval valley are Tindi, Külm, Mõhk, Ööbikuorg, Tinopeetri, Hinni, Sikasoo, and Järveotsa valleys. The most famous of these is Ööbikuorg, which borders the ancient hillfort from the north. In spring, during the blossoming of bird cherry trees, the valley resonates with the song of nightingales – hence the name of the valley. Several hiking trails run through Rõuge, including the popular Ööbikuorg hiking trail, which takes visitors through the primeval valley, past lakes and springs. The trail is suitable for families with children and is partially accessible by bicycle. In summer, you can swim and paddle in the lakes, while in winter, the same trails are enjoyed by skiers and sledders. In the Rõuge settlement, there is also Estonia's deepest lake – Rõuge Suurjärv (38m) – and the largest Nature Clock in Estonia, whose hands mark the passage of time in nature's rhythm.Good to know: At the edge of Ööbikuorg, there is a visitor center and the Pesapuu observation tower, which offers a view of the entire valley.

Käbliku Brewery is a small craft beer producer located in the forests of South Estonia, at Käbliku Farm in Põlva County. Services you can order include: Brewery tour and beer-making introduction Tasting Beer Barrel sauna The tour and introduction to beer-making lasts about 15-20 minutes. We will show you all the main parts of the brewery and explain why they are needed, and how they are used. Tasting gives you the opportunity to try our different beers. The standard package includes tasting 10 different beers and lasts about 1 hour. We have various types of beer, and you will see how much craft beer can differ from mass-produced beer. We talk about the characteristics and the history of the style of beer being sampled. Beer can be purchased in cans or by the case. In the barrel sauna, you can relax in the hot water generated during the beer brewing process and sip cold Käbliku beer. Cottages offer a wonderful opportunity for relaxation. There are four cottages for two on the territory, which can also accommodate an extra bed if necessary. The houses and sanitary facilities are accessible to wheelchair users. Pets are not allowed here. Our territory has everything you need for travelers with a caravan car`s and tent (pets are allowed in this area). In addition, there are barbecue areas, a pond for swimming, saunas, a children's playground, hiking trails and the river boat Lonny.

Kuningamäe health trails are waiting for you in Põltsamaa, Central Estonia! Three marked trails are open for runners, walkers, and cyclists: 1.1, 1.5, and 5 km.At the beginning of the trail, there is a health trail map, a stretching wall, a bike rack, and a parking area for cars. There is also the Kuningamäe Disc Golf Park. In winter, lighted ski trails are open on Kuningamäe.
