Holiday House of the Kalda Tourist Farm

Kalda farm is located by the Väike Emajõgi river, 20 km away from Valga. If you wish to spend your holiday independently in your own house, we have a fully furnished holiday house ready for you. While it is meant for families with children, it is suitable for smaller groups as well. You are able to use all the amenities: air conditioned bedrooms, a mini kitchen, a spacious leisure room, an individual sauna, a roofed veranda, internet connection, TV, etc. There are a number of sights nearby. To spend your free time, you can choose between bonfire and barbecue night, canoe trips, still hunting in nearby forests, and pubs for those who love song and drink.

More than 300 years old, Gunpowder Cellar is a restaurant with a historic atmosphere, located in Tartu's Old Town at the foot of Toome Hill Park. This winter, a skating rink of almost 1,000 square metres will be erected around the Kissing Students fountain on the Town Hall Square, where the most romantic and fun winter entertainment – skating – can be enjoyed under the starry sky.The skating rink can be used free of charge, and both young and old guests can rent skates from the pavilion in the immediate vicinity of the rink on the basis of a price list. Monument to Soldiers Killed in the War of Independence

The monument to soldiers who fell in the War of Independence stands on a hill in front of Otepää Maarja Church and it is remarkable because it was hidden underground for 30 years. The monument was reopened in 1989 after renovation. The top part of the monument bears the words HONOUR THE FALLEN and a list of 22 names. The granite piece with the full list has been lost. The metal decorations were created at the initiative of sculptor Jüri Ojaver.Interesting facts: The initial monument was designed by Voldemar Melnik and made by stonemason Peeter Veeber. The monument was opened for the first time on 10 June 1928.

Monument to Jaan Tõnisson

The monument to the legendary Estonian statesman and journalist Jaan Tõnisson was established in 1999. Its authors are Mati Karmin and Tiit Trummal. Jaan Tõnisson was a legendary statesman and journalist who was prime minister from 1919 to 1920, the head of state from 1927 to 1928 and in 1933, the owner of the Postimees newspaper from 1896 to 1930 and the editor-in-chief of the Postimees from 1896 to 1935. Tõnisson was made an honorary citizen of Tartu in 1939.
